1861 $2 1/2 New Reverse, Type Two AU53 ANACS. Breen-6258. Really nice old "dirty gold"
look to this quarter eagle, struck during the first year of the Civil War and this gold coin actually saw a little circulation. Still quite nice with significant luster and a nice strike.
I have never seen the term Dirty Gold used anywhere except on the U.S. Coin Forum, now that it's spread to EBay it could morph like the term "Rainbow" overnight.
Mr. Dirty Gold Man just making sure you get your cut... not that your left out dry like the fifth member of the Beatles.

I have not seen the coin in person, so I cannot confirm or deny that it is indeed authentic "dirty gold". It could be AC'ed (artificially crusted).
If this concept catches on, maybe I will start my own stickering service.
