Just for fun, can you think up a TV reality show centered around coin collecting?

"Reality" shows seem to be endless in number and in concept (the latest one I have seen promos on is where for one week, teenagers will be given responsibility for taking care of real babies 24/7; now that should be interesting to watch).
Any thoughts or idea's about a reality show centered around coin collecting? I have a couple of ideas.
Central to such a show should/could be one or more of the following: the possibility of making a huge profit (i.e. finding a 1969S DDO MS Lincoln is a OBW roll of 1969S Cents bought for $3.00, with the DDO selling for 5 or 6 figures); the possibility of suffering a big loss; the possibility of someone mishandling a rare coin [his or someone else's] and turning it from a high grade to a damaged piece of junk; the spouse and kids not liking dad's hobby; heirs trying to dispose of a deceased collector's collection; B&M stories; coin show stories; auctions; RIPS; cherry picks; and the cast being a cross section of people (not just a bunch of lilly white middle aged male coin nerds).
Let your imagination run wild and lets see what you forumites can come up with.

You could watch snippets of each player looking through coins, trying to haggle, identifying a cherrypick or undergraded slab.
At the end of the show, the coins are graded and appraised. The participant with the lowest value is "kicked off the island".
Such a show would, no doubt, set new record Nielsen ratings.
The true story of a madcap minx and her hijinx?

There would be a way around it, have bikini models at every table. Will the collector look at the coins or the model???
The one that is able to stop the largest stone coin wins...
... a trip to the emergency ward
To generate interest for the show in the general public, [admittedly the show probably would not last more than one season], you would have to include the following components:
1. possible riches to all constestant with the winning contestant getting big bucks;
2. tasks that the average joe or jane off the street could perform (hunting for coins on a bourse floor or bidding on coins at auction);
3. drama and bickering (i.e. contestants formed into coin hunt teams, or family members on teams, or spouses on teams, or boyfriend and girlfriend teams);
4. sex appeal (hunky guy contestants and hot girl contestants, going on a coin hunt at a coin show in Vegas or LA, with team members meeting at the pool or beach to plot out strategy);
5. fierce competition (i.e. similar to the PCGS World Series of Grading, only the contestants use real money); and
6. celebrity judges (are any of the big shots in the coin world celebrities and telegenic?).
Hmmmmm interesting.

I think Saintguru would rather be Eddie Haskel.

David Dickinson hosts the show that challenges two teams to scour the country for antiques hoping they'll bring a profit at auction.
Like suggested in an earlier thread give the two teams a certain amount of money and off to the bourse.
Box of 20
I cant tell you how much my wife wanted to do the show....but thankfully common sense kicked in and I say No...... think they offered 20k as well
Its the FUN show and 3 goups of boyscouts are on a coin hunt to complete their coin collecting merit badge.
Included in the coin hunt are requirements to interview 3 different dealers on specific series, professional reps from TPG's, the designated show auctioneers ( calling the auctions or consignment reps) as well as promotors of the show.
The camera alternates between the different scout teams actually finding the coins to interviewing dealers, show promotors, TPG's and auctioneers.
I am sure we will see patience exuding from everyone.
I give away money. I collect money.
I don’t love money . I do love the Lord God.

Jon - Do you think they wanted a "coin person family" because we're so interesting, or because they figured coin people would sell out for less cash?

it's as good as any on TV
Only idea that comes to mind would be something for the History Channel ...
Exploration and recovery of sunken treasure from famous or not so famous shipwreck off the coast of some tropical locale ... include natives if necessary to help ratings.

You're having delusions of grandeur again. - Susan Ivanova
Well, if you're gonna have delusions, may as well go for the really satisfying ones. - Marcus Cole
The show could even travel to Omaha.

How about the Discovery Channel.
Coming Soon!
Or.. two teams start with an equal amount of money and they have to stock and run opposing B&M shops. The one who shows the most profit (or the least loss) wins.

Yes I can.
I would be hired a the new 'backroom' guy at Blue Moon Coins.
I could be there in 2 1/2 hours if this concept flies.
