Seems like ebay cares a lot more for sellers than buyers

Kinda OT, but I bought a watch from a seller on ebay with 100% feedback. It was a designer watch with all papers and box. I went to get the battery changed, and it turns out to be a fake! I report this to paypal and file a dispute, and also file a dispute for fraudulent merchandise with ebay. THEY DID ABSOLUETELY NOTHING! I am out over $200 and have a fake watch to show for it. Ebay did not give any penalty to the seller, and paypal didnt give me back a cent. I guess its time to do a charge back with the bank.
I am really considering to stop bidding on ebay all together. There is some nice stuff, but a lot more crap comparatively. What does everyone here think?

"How long have you had this watch" is what I'm thinking?

The way I see it, at least I got something I like, some people buy something, and get crap delivered to them, and they are screwed out of the money, at least you got something you like.
I have a folex watch (A fake rolex that I picked up in Iraq on my first tour over here), when I was at home I went in to a department store and was trying on another watch when the lady said with concern in her voice, "Don't forget that, you might want to put that in your pocket while your trying on the watched".
I knew it was fake but it fooled her, thus far, your fake watch fooled you and you were happy with it.
I know its's the principle, but the way I go throughlife is, if you can not change something, learn to accept it and move on. Life is to short to hold onto the frustration.

As he stated the battery was dead on arrival. He did not state if it was new or used, if used could be dead battery etc...
Gotta love this place.
Edited: oh, I also have dropped my e-bay store and bid only when I need to. i.e. I just bought a used copy stand, not too much can go wrong there.
If you think you're buying a "Rolex" for $200....

You mean that Relox watch I bought for $10 last week is bogo?
<< <i>Battery was dead when I recieved the watch. >>
That piece of information would have been helpful in your initial post in which case I would have said follow up on your PayPal dispute as they usually follow through for the buyer but it does take a week or so. eBay is the same thing, it takes a week or so for the buyer to respond to the dispute.

If not, you should certainly get your money back, however, when something seems too good to be true, ...

Neither would I, and I've sold several genuine Rolex's.
