From the few I've seen, DGS should be in the discussion. I know it's very early to try to make a comparison, but if you think about it, ANACS and ICG have only been under their new ownership for a couple of months longer. It will be interesting to see who emerges.

You Suck! Awarded 6/2008- 1901-O Micro O Morgan, 8/2008- 1878 VAM-123 Morgan, 9/2022 1888-O VAM-1B3 H8 Morgan | Senior Regional Representative- ANACS Coin Grading. Posted opinions on coins are my own, and are not an official ANACS opinion.
Based on my experience, when it comes time to sell, a coin is better off raw than in either of these holders.
As for DGS... I am in a wait and see mode... will "good" coins get into their holders AND STAY THERE?... and will the market accept these coins at fair market value WITHOUT the usual discount demanded for coins in ANACS or ICG holders?... (if people will even look at coins in these holders)...
Re: Slabbed coins - There are some coins that LIVE within clear plastic and wear their labels with pride... while there are others that HIDE behind scratched plastic and are simply dragged along by a label. Then there are those coins that simply hang out, naked and free
Icg, I have submitted about 20 coins and 30 reholders and although grading is tight, fast turnaround and even got a call and was asked how things went. James Taylor is a person that I met few times at the old ICG, but Anacs don't think they will make it.

ICG. should be equal to the old ANACS and is really just as good at grades as PCGS and better thaN NGC/NCS. I've always been happy with the coins I have in ICG holders, infact some of my favorites.
Location has nothing to do with the companies rank in my opinion.
My priorities for a grading service are:
1. Accurate grading/authetication 2. Market acceptance (auctions, shows etc) 3. Re-sale value 4. Turnaround times 5. Customer Service 6. Business Practices
There probably are a dozen more reasons but these were my top ones off the top of my head. A few things to think about since the coin market always changes and ICG/ANACS switch are a great example of this.
Neither, anymore. Sent some to ANACS last year.....didn't agree with their results (same OBW roll, sent in 2 Roosies. One came back AU58, the other MS66. I agree with the MS66 (and would have been ok with almost MS6anything). Also didn't like their service.
Haven't liked JT since he was ICG before. Their "guarantee" was laughable......sure...send it in, if we agree it is overgraded, we will reslab it at the lower grade and send it back to you. Thanks a lot! NOT!
ICG......no thanks.
So, ever though they swapped wives, so to speak, I don't like either right now.

I've had much better success crossing half dimes from ICG to PCGS than I have crossing ANACS to PCGS. Weird, huh?

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
<< <i>DGS here we come. If they get a better slab, similar to ANACS and attribute everything the they will be a major second tier contender. >>
Yeah. Even things like Full Step nickels would be a start.

Now, neither.
So far though, ANACS has the clear majority.

You are right!!!!
<< <i>Kind of scary that both ICG and ANACS are in Englewood, CO.
Isn't that so when they switch back nobody has to move?
