A question for those who block bidders with NPB strikes.
Have you ever thought of how much money your loosing?
Twice in the last week I've been blocked from placing my snipe bid on one sellers auctions. Both times they were VAMs and my snipe was set at TWICE what the coin actually sold for.
After the first auction I contacted the seller and explained that I'd like to bid on his auction and he still wouldnt let me bid.
I got a NPB because I won almost two dozen rounds of silver from a seller who clearly stated in his auctions that he would combine shipping. His shipping was $6.95 for the first auction and $1.95 per additional. He claims he couldnt figure out how to combine the shipping. There was no way I was paying well over $100 for shipping. When I told him that he filed NPB.
And if someone doesnt pay for an auction eBay reimburses you for the fee's. So what are you loosing if someone doesnt pay compared to what you gain if someone who has a previous NPB strike DOES pay?!?

I'll see your bunny with a pancake on his head and raise you a Siamese cat with a miniature pumpkin on his head.
You wouldn't believe how long it took to get him to sit still for this.

I am not sure the new rules on NPB Blocking, but I do know I have/had mine set up to block anyone with 2 NPB's in the last 30 days, and it is worth any possible loss of money versus the possible hassles to me. That's just my two cents, but some intelligent conversation in this thread could change my mind.
In honor of the memory of Cpl. Michael E. Thompson
<< <i> Additionally, if the winning bidder backs out of the auction then there is no guarantee the coin will sell or sell at the same level in a subsequent auction. >>
Although I don't block NPB struck bidders, this is the best reason to block. If I sold more unique coins I might. A hot coin relisted will raise eyebrows as maybe there is something wrong with the coin and the buyer returned it. There are clearly other reasons but I've seen relisted coins do poorly. --Jerry
Had an recent Seller get bent-out-of-shape because a postal money order _didn't arrive within 3 days of auction close.. Duh, Like I have any control over the post office !
The Seller filled immediately & when payment (finally arrived) he removed it.
<< <i>As a BUYER Only.... How does a NPB strike that's been _Removed by the seller affect my score ?

Your statement does not compute ... A seller cannot file an NPB withe eBay ( parameters won't allow it ) until after 7 days have elapsed from the close of auction.

CPA:
The Seller filled a Warning on day 4 & the actual NPB on day 7. This was over a Holiday w/e when I was out of town...
How is a seller to know that story?
Under the new EBAY scheme, it is MORE important to block NPBs
than it has ever been.
The new settings allow a block on bidders who have 2 UIDs within 12-months.
A prudent block-menu looks like this:
Block buyers who:
Don't have a PayPal account
Have received 2 Unpaid item Strike(s) within 12 month(s)
Are registered in countries to which I don't ship
Have 4 Policy violation report(s) within 6 month(s)
Have a feedback score equal to or lower than -1
Have bid on or bought my items in the last 10 days and have met my limit of 10 who have a feedback score of 5 or lower
.............................................
NPBs can burn sellers and STILL leave NEGs.
I already have plenty of money. I sell stuff to get more money;
not to deal with scummy-PITAs who cause me trouble. "Buyers"
are NOT doing me a favor when they buy something, and
refuse to pay for it.
My current BBLs have many buyers who have left NEGs/NEUTs
since May 20, 2008. That may not be "fair," but I don't care.
Previous behavior is a fair indicator of future conduct.
It is open season on GOOD EBAY sellers. The crooks still have
free run of the place; the honest folks are looking for safer
venues.

Yep, and I switched to that setting the moment it became available.

If the seller removed it, there is no impact.

So it wasn't after 3 days as you originally alleged. Just needed to have that clarified....
