A little alloy here, a little amalgam there-pretty soon you have a coin. In defense of saintguru(not to be confused with sucking up), I respectfully remind BAJJERFAN that amalgam in secondary usage is: A mixture of different elements=combination. It is not exclusive to mercury or any other metal. With Respect, John Curlis
I never bought a gold coin with a copper spot, probably never will. I passed up some very nice looking gold pieces over the years, but that is only my personal taste.
I collect Capped Bust series by variety in PCGS AU/MS grades.

Thank You for your support. I was actually referring to your artistic brick ability, which I admired. As to the other, I will remain with my thoughts re. the use of amalgam, unless Mr. Websters' heirs deem a change to the language is required for the next Spelling Bee. Respectfully, John Curlis
Now if we could only change copper collector's tastes to include carbon spotting, we'd really be getting somewhere.
As for me, personally, I like copper spots as the attest to originality, but only provided they are not too distracting as they can sometimes be...Mike
