Sniper programs

I cant tell you how many times I have been outbid by 50 cents on an auction in the last 30 seconds
. So I need to get a sniper program, so I can do onto others as they have done onto me.
So......I wanted to know where to get these programs and what is available. Thank you in advance!

<< <i>You get 5 free snipes a week or unlimited for $5 a month, I have used it dozens of times and it has never failed to place my bids. http://www.justsnipe.com/ >>
Wow, that would work better than the one I use. Mine costs like 15 cents a winning bid. http://www.snip.pl/en
Still worth a look.

That may be the next increment, but you may have been outbid by a lot more.
I've done both......gotta hosed by an increment but also won by an increment even when my bid was " a bit" higher
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
<< <i>Are you sure you were just outbid by $.50?

Seems that way. Ebay sent me an email stating I was outbid and that the auction had ended at the same time. And when I checked it again today, the difference was only 50 cents. So, that is what precipitated this thread.

Unless you were outbid by less than one bid increment, there's no way to know for sure how much you were outbid by.

<< <i>Why use a sniper program??? Do it yourself... I can beat any program.... and have. I have never lost an auction I was determined to win. Cheers, RickO >>
I honestly believe that if you are bidding, you are overpaying. Let the program do it for you, set your limit and then so be it.
<< <i>Why use a sniper program??? >>
So I don't have to sit at my computer to make my bid. I have never lost an auction I was determined to win, either.
eBay doesn't care whether your bid is placed manually or automatically- just who's highest at the end.

Suppose the auction ends at 12am or 1am? I am not going to stay up just to bid on it.

I agree with ricko 110% the optimum word is determined!!
If you want a certain coin you will stay up to all hours of the day/night.
I have stayed up many times to snipe a coin. If you are willing and determined to get it
you will do almost anything
Also... at times it is better late night because people aren't willing to stay up late at night.
You may even get a cheaper price. IMO

A sniping program will not help you friend as you are obviously not bidding high enough. You'll still get outbid until you understand the premise of the snipe!
That premise is to bypass bidding altogether! As a seller I hate the hell out of them, as a buyer, I love the concept!
Basically it goes this way:
You enter your .99 bid on the $3.00 coin of your dreams!
Somebody looking at that same coin, see's your bid and says, "Hmmm, I'll go a bit more for that one" so they bid $1.50.
You come back and, not wanting to lose your dream coin, put in $2.00!
Mr. Somebody bidder comes back at $2.50!
You see it and with bold determination bid $5.00! You just gotta have this $3.00 coin!
Mr. Somebody, ain't gonna be outdone by no cowboy from West Texas so he bids $7.50 and knocks you off your high horse!
Angry as hell you come back and throw $10.00 down on the table!
Mr. Somebody is starting to get into this now! This is an attack on his personal integrity so he slams $20.00 down. "Friggin Texans!"
Now you've had it! This is your coin and no Coal Mining womanizer from Pennsylvania is gonna steal it from ya! Out comes the credit card and a $50.00 bid!
and on
and on
and on
The seller goes "SCORE!"
You win your $3.00 coin for $50.00
The Forum laughs it's but off over the silliness that just occured!
With a sniping program or by sniping manually, you simply save your $5.00 bid until the last seconds of the auction! No muss, no fuss and no getting knocked on your but by a guy from stupidsville!
If you really want to win a coin, you need to play the averages and hope to hell that nobody else is. Basically, eBay will bid up to your maximum in specific increments. If you get outbid by 1 increment (.25 .50 $1.00) it simply means that somebody else bid a higher MAXIMUM amount! Sniping program or not, you'd get beat.
What you need to do is simply watch the auction and make note of whose bidding and where the current bid is at. Come the last couple of seconds, put in your maximum (provided it hasn't already been beat by two bidiots from across the country). If you win, you've avoided a bidding war. If you lose, you probably saved yourself some money!
What you want to avoid at all costs on eBay or in any auction, is to actually bid!

All I can say is then you don;t really want the coin!
Oh BTW, some sniping programs cost you a monthly fee which is why I don't use them. Besides, they are only doing a single maximum bid and not actually bidding. eBay does that with the maximum!

If you prefer to have a normal life and still bid in the actions then using a sniping program is the way to go, if you would rather spend all day and night sitting in front of your computer waiting to bid then do not use the program. The one I showed you gives you five free snipes a week and it resets every Thurs. night at midnight (12:00am) and gives you five more whether you used one or all of the snipes from the week before. If you have items on your watch list on Thurs. and have snipes left over you can set them and even if the auctions do not close before Midnight Thurs. they will still go thru and you get your five new ones at 12:01 am Friday morning.

Lee,
You are dead on.
Sniping is the ONLY way to bid.
I set mine down to as low as 3 seconds and let 'er rip.
BUT. If someone is MORE determined than me to win, they will.
It is all down to Highest bidder and a sniper program will not help you there.

<< <i>So.......do these sniper programs bid in ebay increments up to your max bid or just snipe at the end for you max? Chaz >>
If a max bid is entered at time out; you win; unless the previous bid is higher.

You must have a more reliable ISP than I do.

But to elaborate and make sure we address the question: The sniping program enters your bid one time as a max bid. eBay then takes the max bid and bids against other bids that have been or get placed in bid increments so you pay one bid increment above the underbidder, unless you are the underbidder. The exception would be if your max bid ends up less then one bid increment above the underbidder but your bid was placed at a time when it was more than one bid increment above, then you'll win for less than one bid increment above the underbidder. I used to buy a lot of lathe and mill tooling and carbide insertsfor $20 and less. I have won and lost many an auciton by .01.
Finally, if your bid doesn't show up in the bid history then the price had already advanced beyond your max bid at the time of the snipe.

I agree when it ends on a week night at 9 PM
but I find a snipe program mandatory if I want to have a life or bid on an auction that ends while I'm at work.
I've always used esnipe.com and had very good luck with it even when setting snipe times down to the 1-2 second range.
You wouldn't believe how long it took to get him to sit still for this.
If you really want the item, you will be there... if not, why bother in the first place. I enjoy it... Plus, I get what I want. Yes, my ISP has always worked well. I usually place my final (and second) bid, 3 seconds before it ends... sometimes 4 or 5.... best time has been 1 second ... Cheers, RickO
How much does eSnipe cost??
eSnipe is free to new users for the first 14 days. After the trial period, eSnipe only charges if you win an auction, even if you lost because your bid was too low. When you do win the cost is 25 cents for items up to US$24.99, 1% of the winning amount for items up to US$1,000 (rounded down to the nearest penny), and a maximum of $10 thereafter. So if you win an item for $47, the fee is 47 cents. If you win an item for $230.58, the fee is $2.30. eSnipe fees are in BidPoints, which you can buy in quantity for discounts. For more details, please visit our BidPoints Official Rules page.
Do you factor in eSnipe's fee's into your bidding amounts as well as the shipping and handling amounts?
Why pay additional fee's when you can do the same thing yourself?
Just takes the "thrill of the snipe" out of the sniping process if you have to hire somebody else to do your work.

Ebay shouldnt care if sniping is being used. They are getting the highest bid regardless.

<< <i>If you do it correctly - manually - you will not be outsniped by any program. Yes, timewise, it may inconvenience you, but if it is worth doing, it is worth doing right. Cheers, RickO >>
I understand what you are saying about manually sniping. However, I am afraid if I wait til 5 secs before then end of the auction, it might be over by the time the bid gets in. What do you do or have that you can place a bid 3-5 seconds before the end and not get shut out?

<< <i>If you do it correctly - manually - you will not be outsniped by any program. >>
I'm not sure about that- if my automated snipe bid is higher than your manual bid, I'll still win.
Right?
nothing to download or install.. it's all done online with a very intuitive interface..

That's kid's stuff.
The real challenge is to snipe just *under* the highest bid of the "winner." I've sniped a few to the penny. The last one I figured the guy bid $49.99, so I sniped $49.98.... it was a BEAUTIFUL thing to see!
<< <i>eSnipe:

They did a grandfather deal years ago where if you were already using them you get to bid on all auctions under $25 free.
Not that it helps anyone new to them but its great for me on common Morgans which I pick up a lot of times for well under $25.
You wouldn't believe how long it took to get him to sit still for this.

Not necessarily!
Sniping actually suppresses bidding.

Right?"
WRONG!!
If I am sniping, it means I really want the coin.. and my snipe bid is nuclear... you will not be higher... PERIOD!!!!! I always win. Cheers, RickO
Putting in a bid 1 second before the end of an auction is not the best way to snipe IMO. You actually want your bid in right before any other snipe bids.
Joe.

Wrong? If my automated snipe bid is higher than your manual bid, you''ll win?
