<< <i>After reading the highlite's of the current BST mess and seeing how many poster's there are just using that forum and have not posted on this or any other forum, maybe it's time to only allow posting there only after being a member for 1 year and have xxx amount of post's or some other way to screen before there start selling. I only buy there from members that I have seen over here posting maybe passing up a few good coins but using that has helped me as I never had a bad sale or trade there.

First off, Dan. Obviously you weren't a nuke in the navy as an engineman (unless you were part of an experimental plan) but it looks like you became one anyway. image I was an EM3(SW) but got out after my 6 years. Sounds like you have a cool job. I work as a traveling x-ray tech. Breaks up the monotony that way. image

Back on topic, I have always chosen to participate on the NGC forums, have over 7K posts, and am known and trusted there. Yet, I'll occasionally sell something and will make a BST post on this side of the street.

The fact that I don't post much here does not make me any less reliable.

hey, both sides deserve to be heard and if someone has been screwed the screwer fully deserves to be outed.
  • I don't believe it....there has to be more to the story....but frankly niether the accuser or accusee owe me any explanation....it's none my darn business.

  • << <i>

<< <i>I too had a BST problem with a fellow member in early 2007. I was a sent a cleaned, overgraded coin in the 1k range but was promised an original AU55 example. The seller gave me a story about how he could not accept returns. I waited a few months and sold it on eBay (listed as cleaned with huge pics) and got my money back due to an increase in the price of gold. I decided to give the seller a break but I learned a valuable lesson.

My advice to anyone buying or selling on the BST is buyer beware. Anyone can sign up and begin to post on these forums. Other than this one incident, my BST experiences have been fantastic. Once I began to trade with the pillars of this community, I have not had a single problem. >>

<< <i>"It's easy as hell to accuse when the accused has no way to respond."
Sir: I am stating a fact. It seems CONDOM 101 has friends and followers here, I'm sure they've been in contact and he may respond through them. I, sir, have no desire to contact the scum. It's a beautiful day here and there's no need to soil it. Sincerely, Mike >>

hey Mike, I guess you learned here that it's ok to out someone, even encouraged - unless they are popular. Then the mob turns on you image

The accused has many ways to respond -including directly to the injured party. In dact, that would probably be the best and most productive response. >>

    Mob? What Mob?

I'm only asking for the dteails of how Mr. So and So got screwed.

He gave out the name but will not supply any details.

I've PMed Conder on the NGC bnoards and am awaiting a reply. I find it difficult to believe that Conder screwed anybody. I do find it easy to believe that something happened with the transaction that perhaps could not be worked out between the two parties involved.

I find it rather irritating that someone would slam a respected member of the forums without provided detaisl too.

Thats not a mob. Thats just wanting to learn the truth from both sides if possible.

If a wrong was done. then I'm all for gittin the bad guys along with the rest of you but I have also learned over the years to not take everything at face value as there may quite be more to the story than one is led to believe.

Condor101 could post on the NGC boards in response to Goose's thread. To date he has not.

How do you know the accusations are "baseless"? Do you have personal knowledge of all the details to the trasaction?

    ATS, From Conder101

The reason I have not responded is because my main computer crashed over a week ago and I have not seen this thread until today.

    My response:

Guilty as charged. I'm not proud of that, frankly I'm deeply ashamed. I do still have his slab and I do need to settle accounts with him. But I also no longer have his address or any way to contact him. (He does not have an email address in in his profile ATS.) If someone could contact him and find out exactly what he wants for the coin (The original deal was part of an open ended trade deal with no set value assigned to his coin.) I will do my best to settle up with him by check, MO or Paypal.

I see I still have friends on the PCGS board who rose to my defense. I'm sorry they had to do so in a case in which I was the party in the wrong. I did treat drwstr123 shabbily and doing so have also treated my friends on the PCGS board badly as well. I owe apologies to all of them as well. This is not how I normally behave and I feel badly for it and would like to make amends. I can make up to drwstr123 by paying him for his coin, but I do not know how I can make up to my friends on PCGS for betraying their faith in me. All I can do is say that I am sorry and ask for your forgiveness.

    Conder101

And if someone could post my response ATS I would appreciate it.

Not sure why this thread turned into one debating a former forum member's transaction, but
can someone provide a link to the "mess" that occurred, or did it go poof?

Was it about the XXX and Griv thing? cuz that one I did read. Just curious.

I have had no problems on the BST but I understand why some might want some restrictions on it.
I think this is a bad idea. Some people believe that all is safe on the boards. In reality, it's no different than ebay,
if you don't know the person you're dealing with. I've only tried to deal with folks that I see are active
    and post a lot.

I much prefer to buy and sell on the BST over ebay. You have to regulate yourself on here.

PS: Another way I've avoided any problems is by buying slabbed coins on here or raw coins only when
    good pictures are available.

    Just my thoughts.

Well it looks like Michael did drop the ball which to me is quite surprising!

Hopefully this transaction will get cleared off the books now that the email problem has been identified.

Let it be known that I won't hesitate to ask for both sides of the story in the future as hearing only one side simply causes undo escalation and tension. Especially given the current circumstances where one party does not have access to the PCGS boards for a defense.

So if I have this right, this "deal" was around two years ago? The guy that didn't get his end of the deal is a poster at NGC...... and Condor couldn't have done a forum user search and find him...... but says he couldn't contact him as he didn't have his email? Then, all the high-fives and what a stand up guy he is for admitting to his mistakes?

Maybe I have this wrong but this is what I'm getting from all this. IMO, seems he only admitted to his mistakes after being outed. I have nothing against Condor, but I won't call him a stand up guy and high-five him as many do.
