Apparently some real coin show action on Sunday!

I didn't attend the show but was told that an obviously disgruntled customer pulled out a baseball bat and hit a local dealer at a commercial show this past Sunday. Something to the effect of "You dealers are all alike" was allegedly said.

The collector was arrested. The dealer was not seriously hurt.

This makes negative eBay feedback look tame by comparison.

The guy must have thought the asking price wasn't in the ballpark.

I want to know how he pulled out a bat. Was he hiding it in a pantleg or up a sleeve? Doesn't seem like the easiest thing to conceal.....

Maybe the customer was trying to sell using Redbook prices.....

I don't have any details of what happened. It's possible it was a small size souvenir bat.

Wow, that has the makings of a good video. Glad no one was hurt, at least physically.

I agree with blu62vette - Where did the bat come from?

I was at a show this weekend and they had two security guards at the entrance - I can't imagine sneaking in a baseball bat...

Maybe it was a combines sports show and the bat was autographed. --Jerry

Must have been a fruit-loop buyer to begin with. I can't imagine bringing a baseball bat to a coin show (at least not as a buyer). Good grief - nut cases abound.

    What show was this?

  • Steroids. Interesting. I suppose it is anatomically possible to have certain extremities mistaken for an inanimate object. I, alas, can't accomplish the level of violence described in this Thread, due to genes that afford me the ability to be directed to the womens' room by the male gender. Disrespected, John Curlis

If the collector had the nads to hit someone in such a public place with a baseball bat, I assume the collector had some issues too!

I heard some dealers talking about this today at a show. Was the dealer from Michigan?
