What do you like best about coins. Is it their beauty, is it there investment potential, is it the thrill of the hunt, or something else. No survey, just serious answers please, with a brief explanation.

I like the fact that after I spend my money I have something solid to hold in my hand.

I also like holding pre-21 circulated coinage in my hands and thinking of the history
behind this coin. Although I buy BU coins for an investment. I really like a nice circulated
    morgans and seated halfs.

The funny thing is I never had an intrest in old western movies. When I started collecting a few
years ago I developed an intrest in old westerns.

Then again, putting a Chinese knockoff in your mouth might kill you too - lead, mercury, who knows what goes in them!

I like coins, because they are nice to look at.
When you have a very good example, you put them in a slab, and you cant get your finger prints all over them.
I once looked into the deep mirrors of a Franklin for almost and hour, it was hypnotic. Right after I was done making love to it I realized it was worth more than I bought it for, so I sold it reluctantly for more than double the price.

I have found power in the mysteries of thought.

It is always a question of knowing and seeing, and not that of believing.

Our virtues, and our failings are inseparable, like force, and matter. When they separate, man is no more.

The thrill of the deal, both ways and lining the little jewels up side by side and study and think for hours.

-the thrill of finally being able to afford, to locate & to acquire that ultimate coin(s)

-the owning of super coin that hundreds of collectors are
    anxious to acquire

-to parlay one's holdings to allow them to acquire
    a dream coin

-the excitement of viewing & holding a million dollar coin

I like calling up smaller coin stores in the DC area and telling them I inherited some old coins in a box and taking a few of my gems over to see how they respond and what they offer.

I like many different things, but one thing that is particularly fun is the hunting for a given coin(s) and then finding a nice looking one in a totally unexpected place/time at a very reasonable price.

Things I like about my coins

    1. They never criticise
    or make fun of me.

    2. They are always ready to
    be looked at.

    3. They are always happy to go
    where ever I take them.

    4. They sit quietly where ever I place
    them and never complain.

5.They never ask for things or bother me.

    6. They never sleep and are always
    raring to go.

    7. The older they get, the better they look.

    8. You don't have to do anything, to make
    them happy and contented.
