Why was this auction cancelled?
I know why, and I think it is over reaching on the part of EBAY. I dont make such comments lightly and I also know that what I said in the item description is absolutely true. My problem with this is why EBAY felt it violated their listing policies, when, in my opinion, it clearly does not. What say you? Auction

edit: and if you don't have a copy of it, you can't even go back and try to figure out why they cancelled it. In this case, apparently you know what rule you voilated. --Jerry
Recipient of the coveted "You Suck" award, April 2009 for cherrypicking a 1833 CBHD LM-5, and April 2022 for a 1835 LM-12, and again in Aug 2012 for picking off a 1952 FS-902.
They have a lot of rules.
To get an opinion on here in the forum you may be able to post a screen shot of the page onlòy you CAN see.
In other words, if you can view the "pulled" page using your browser, do a screen capture and post the resulting image for review.
A screen capture can be made using many software programs (such as Snag-It(tm) for ex.).
The simplest away is to press the "Print" button while keeping the "ALT" button pressed.
A copy of your screen will then be stored in your coimputer's "Clipboard"
Then open the Paint program (Start->Programs-Accessories->Paint) and selct "Paste" from the Editr menu.
Then you can save that image wherever you wish. I would select the JPG format for saving the image.
Then you can include the image in a message here on the forum (if the forum rules here allow that).

<< <i>Well, I learned two things today. But I can read the listing. Evidently no one else can. Sorry for the confusion. Case closed. >>
I think that the statement above is either wrong (in which case the page cannot be seen) or, if correct, the seller can capture an image of it.

Can't use PCGS and NGC in the tille unless the coins are so graded.

<< <i>All coins will grade at PCGS or NGC, no cleaned coins >>
That's a "no no" ... you'r coins are not graded & it's only your opinion that they would. Not allowed to use qualified TPG's Names in your Title or Subtitle unless they are graded by them.
<< <i>This is a very nice set with the half having light cameo on both the obverse and reverse but not quite enough to trigger the designation at PCGS or NGC, in my opinion. All coins are gradeable at PCGS or NGC. >>
If I were doing a search for (PCGS,NGC) Cameo this auction would pop up and this has absolutely nothing to do with my actual search? If everyone used such a description that a coin could be certified by a particular grading service, a keyword search for a coin already certified would become useless?
<< <i>Yep, key word spamming, and stating they will grade at PCGS or NGC when you do not know that for a fact. Bad boy. >>
Keyword spamming doesn't seem to work in the subtitle anymore. I put real keywords in the subtitle and my auction doesn't come up in searches.
OP I think you could have gotten away with this in the description if you said it was your opinion. --Jerry

Jerry you are 100% correct, the sub title has never been searchable, what real function does it provide?. I my opinion it is a worthless option designed only to make money for ebay.

I've seen a couple of tricky folks get around this by including a pcgs box with their auctions.

I'm not sure that still wouldn't get your listing pulled. From eBay's "Selling Currency" policy:
A raw or uncertified coin is defined as any coin not graded by one of the authorized grading companies. Sellers are permitted to list these items on eBay under the following conditions:
A numeric grade is not included in the title of the listing, such as MS-65, VF-25, etc. A numeric grade may only be included in the description of the listing.
The grading company or price guide is not referenced in the title or description.
A dollar value (even if personal opinion) is not included in the title or description.

Alan, I'm aghast that it took me this long to figure this out. I've been putting alternate spellings etc in subtitles for a long time. What a waste of money. --Jerry
<< <i>Thank you all for your replies and insight. I have since relisted the two which got cancelled and am sure they will make it to term! >>
I don't see them. Did they sell that quickly?
You are BuddySeven, correct?
