Is anybody elses ebay feedback acting goofy?
I just went to mine, the feedbacks jumped up 20-30 with only 2 feedbacks posted today and my rating dropped from 100 to 99.8, I don't have any negs....?
edited to correct the 20-30 to 200 +........

The only thing that dropped was my shipping charge rating by one tenth of a point and the only thing I did different was offered free shipping. Go figure

I've found that most buyers like "actual usps shipping charges" better than free shipping. Free shipping sounds like something for nothing so they think you're hiding the costs. Since I started using the eBay shipping charge calculator where I just enter the weight and my printed shipping label shows the amount they were charged for shipping to the penny my shipping charges number has bounced between 4.9 and 5.0. --Jerry

Edited to add: Oh, there it went. Gained 73 feedbacks and went from 99.9% to 100% positive.

<< <i>I'll change that Jerry. Actual shipping charges would be a lot easier, but how do people know actual shipping charges without the weight of the package ? How does this work in conjunction with using Pay Pal to purchase the item ? Do my questions make sense ? I cannot know exactly how much an item costs to ship, so how can pay pal or ebay or the customer ? I have to pack it up first. >>
You specify the weight when you list your item. eBay calculates shipping based on the weight. You have to put the .18 charged for del conf or 1.75 for sig conf into the "handling fees" part. Then when you print out your label on paypal shipping click "Show shipping charges on label" and they see what you paid and it is exactly what they were charged. --Jerry

Free = Bad
While I dont doubt the validity of this. It just proves once again that people are idiots.
You wouldn't believe how long it took to get him to sit still for this.

Years ago my Mom was having a yard sale and she put out a box of old paperback books with a sign, FREE. After a couple of hours no one took one. So she took the sign down and put up another one that said 5 cents each. They sold like hotcakes.

This is pretty interesting, I went to free shipping my last couple auctions, but really can't tell if I am doing better or worse yet, I guess I should pay close attention to this....
Well, now my feedback is back up to 100%. Of course, now that sellers can't leave a negative, I'll more than likely be held hostage for extra perks in order to not receive a negative from the huge number of people who will be buying stuff just to leave negatives. People with no lives of their own. They won't pay either.

I had a garage sale 20 years ago. I had a console TV set that was very heavy. It took three of us to get it down the stairs. The yard sale went on for a few hours and no one bought the TV for $10. It was close to the end of the sale and we did not want to carry the TV back up the stairs. My buddy put a sign on it for $100. Within 10 minutes we had two guys arguing over who would get to buy it! The one ended up giving me $150!

Mine jumped about 80, My rating rose from 99.8 to 100
Have a good one!!!
<< <i>Mine went up from 976 or so to 1300 or so. But I have over 1900 f/b since inception. Havent read the f/b criteria but it seems something is amiss. >>
Nothing is amiss. Only repeat feedback that happened in different weeks is counted.

I called Ebay to complain. The changes are not all correct and they said it may take a few days to iron out the problems.
One thing is that they are counting a neg against me that was left by a non paying bidder. Also I understand that they are counting neutral feedback aginst your total.
The average is being taken on a "rolling" 12 month period and updated every month.
Grrrr!

<< <i>my feedback, when you are looking at an item, it shows 99.8% (the old rating), and for instance, on Russ's it shows 100% (again the old rating) >>
Interesting. Hadn't noticed that. It's definitely a glitch, though, because my old rating was 99.9%, which is the same as my new rating. Looks like right now the negs are dropped when viewing individual listings, but the neuts haven't been added in.

So what feedback percentage is going to be considered good in 6 months with the changes made?(Let's say for someone with over 300 feedbacks)
