Is anybody elses ebay feedback acting goofy?

I just went to mine, the feedbacks jumped up 20-30 with only 2 feedbacks posted today and my rating dropped from 100 to 99.8, I don't have any negs....?

edited to correct the 20-30 to 200 +........

Yep, the new feedback changes are kicking in today, neutrals count, and feedback from the same member now counts in the total if left in different weeks.

    yes, my silly ratings went from 4.9, 5.0, 4.9, and 4.8 to 4.9, 5.0, 4.9 and 4.7

The only thing that dropped was my shipping charge rating by one tenth of a point and the only thing I did different was offered free shipping. Go figure image

I checked at 0700 PDT and saw no change. Can't check now.

I've found that most buyers like "actual usps shipping charges" better than free shipping. Free shipping sounds like something for nothing so they think you're hiding the costs. Since I started using the eBay shipping charge calculator where I just enter the weight and my printed shipping label shows the amount they were charged for shipping to the penny my shipping charges number has bounced between 4.9 and 5.0. --Jerry

Mine just jumped 77 more feedbacks. All my star ratings stayed the same. Took Ebay forever to get this right. I'm happy with it now. image

I'll change that Jerry. Actual shipping charges would be a lot easier, but how do people know actual shipping charges without the weight of the package ? How does this work in conjunction with using Pay Pal to purchase the item ? Do my questions make sense ? I cannot know exactly how much an item costs to ship, so how can pay pal or ebay or the customer ? I have to pack it up first.

It looks like the rating is only changing for the last 12 months, I had many buyers the were the same 2 years ago and didn't get credit, but I had a knucklehead leave me neg 2 years ago and it's gone in my rating, I had a 99.8 and now have 100% wow very impressive!! Not!

My feedback jumped about 200, which is nice, but my percentage dropped from 99.8 to 99.7%... both from 2 stupid negs.

Yeah... Mine just dropped from 100% to 99.7% because of a Neutral I received in Sept 07. But my over all number has not gone up yet. Also, my dashboard is still all 5's.

You specify the weight when you list your item. eBay calculates shipping based on the weight. You have to put the .18 charged for del conf or 1.75 for sig conf into the "handling fees" part. Then when you print out your label on paypal shipping click "Show shipping charges on label" and they see what you paid and it is exactly what they were charged. --Jerry

I have separate accounts that I use for buying and selling. I haven't sold much in a while so I only have two feedbacks left in the last year on my selling account. If I sell one more coin and get a screwball buyer my feedback would drop from 100% to 66.6%, and that's with almost 300 positives over the years and only one retalitory negative.

Yeah, we noticed the change earlier today. With how many repeat buyers we've had, our rating went from around 8500 to 19,000 something. Instantly made us a shooting star. image

I picked up 270 feedbacks and my rating went from 99.9 to 100%. No doubt that 100% won't last long although I haven't had a neg in over 3 years.

I've been having a different problem with the feedback system. I have not been able to leave any feedback for several days now. I have tried to leave two positive feedbacks, but when I hit the "LEAVE FEEDBACK" button absolutely nothing happens. I have tried to leave the same feedbacks several times, but always with the same result. Also, probably unrelated, but I cannot add any "New Searches" to My eBay page, either. Everything else works fine. Any suggestions as to why I should be having these problems?

Years ago my Mom was having a yard sale and she put out a box of old paperback books with a sign, FREE. After a couple of hours no one took one. So she took the sign down and put up another one that said 5 cents each. They sold like hotcakes.

Wow! Nice. They put me back up to 100%. I had purchased "20 2006 Silver Eagle 'W' Coins" from a guy on eBay. I know I should have asked questions BEFORE bidding, but the 2006 W's were expensive and hard to come by. His ad insisted they were "W" coins. But after pulling the trigger, I thought to ask the fellow why the coins in the picture didn't seem to have a "W" on them. He said ALL Silver Eagles were minted at West Point, so they were all "W" coins. These were just bullion coins. I told him I didn't want them. He didn't write back. So, after about 30 minutes I wrote back and said I would go ahead and take them as they were a good price, even for bullion. He wrote back that he had already packaged them up and when I wrote I didn't want them, he unpackaged them and he was NOT going to package them up again. He claimed he had already printed the postage and that was wasted. Well. I told him he could easily get his postage back from the USPS. I've done that several times. He told me to forget it and he immediately left me a NEG. So, I did the same to him. One loser out of over 600 transactions brought my feedback down to 99.8%. I was pi$$ed, but so be it.

Well, now my feedback is back up to 100%. Of course, now that sellers can't leave a negative, I'll more than likely be held hostage for extra perks in order to not receive a negative from the huge number of people who will be buying stuff just to leave negatives. People with no lives of their own. They won't pay either.

Mine went up from 976 or so to 1300 or so. But I have over 1900 f/b since inception. Havent read the f/b criteria but it seems something is amiss. And, my f/b over the past 12 months is 73 per one measure and over 90 per another. strange. seems there are some kinks to work out!

I had a garage sale 20 years ago. I had a console TV set that was very heavy. It took three of us to get it down the stairs. The yard sale went on for a few hours and no one bought the TV for $10. It was close to the end of the sale and we did not want to carry the TV back up the stairs. My buddy put a sign on it for $100. Within 10 minutes we had two guys arguing over who would get to buy it! The one ended up giving me $150!

I have a question maybe someone knows. On my feedback, when you are looking at an item, it shows 99.8% (the old rating), and for instance, on Russ's it shows 100% (again the old rating) but when you click to our actual feedback, that is where it shows the new ratings. Will these ever be in sync, or is this how it is going to be?

I called Ebay to complain. The changes are not all correct and they said it may take a few days to iron out the problems.

One thing is that they are counting a neg against me that was left by a non paying bidder. Also I understand that they are counting neutral feedback aginst your total.

The average is being taken on a "rolling" 12 month period and updated every month.

Interesting. Hadn't noticed that. It's definitely a glitch, though, because my old rating was 99.9%, which is the same as my new rating. Looks like right now the negs are dropped when viewing individual listings, but the neuts haven't been added in.
