Hmmmm, is this email from a dealer of concern that our coin market might be peaking soon? Comments?
Here is the email I received:
Even the coin dealer's letter refers to a market top coming soon. He also refers to investors streaming into the market.

Oreville:
As you know, coins are going crazy. The coin market is hot because financial institutions are getting involved, and are in effect MAKING a market for investors who are losing money in traditional securities.
Now is the last chance to acquire the same highly sought after coins that dominated the market in the late 80's, the last time Wall Street put investors in coins.
As more investors are directed into non-reportable coins, the prices shall continue to go up, even if metals go the other way. The market makers are building steep demand for a very short supply in high grade and rarity coins.
The U.S. stock market is the biggest market in the world, and the classic U.S. coin market, by comparison, is tiny. A small percentage of stock market participants can have a huge effect on the coin market.
In 1988 and 1989, for example, coin prices exploded by 200% to 300% as a direct result of the October, 1987 stock market crash, in which the market lost 25% in one day.
Financial advisors and portfolio managers are migrating investors into coins, prices are going crazy.

Nothing special brother, I get 'em all the time from brokers, car dealers, real estate agents, etc.. Just drumming up business.
1. Exceptionally poor returns on traditional investment vehicles.
2. A serious crisis of confidence in the top management of the big Wall Street firms/banks. These folks were neck deep in sub-prime garbage and who knows what else. Do you trust them to watch out for your interest or theirs?
3. Coins have been red hot recently and can be projected to continue to do well by the hypesters. The promoters don't care about anything but what they can sell today. If the coin market dives next year they won't care. They will have made their big profits and will "have adequate inventory at the moment" if someone wants to sell back to them.
in the prices of rare coins, the speculation is no where
close to the levels of the 80s. Most likely to get hurt today
are novices paying top dollar for ,marginal for the grade
coins and doctored coins.
These two categories are due for a serious set back in values
which, may already have begun. For those folks who are members
of this Forum and wise in things worth knowing, any risk is
contained and represents an improved buying opportunity. Quality
coins of any grade should hold their values. Remember the CANTRA.
QUALITY/ORIGINALITY/APPEARANCE.
