Finally saved up my pennies and able to .......

purchase a 1995-W ASE PCGS DCAM Proof 69 (probably the most preferable of the affordable slabs). Could anyone give me reasons not to buy one? What's the most you would pay if you were in the market for one? Thanks for your opinions.

It would depend on how wealthy I would become before I could gues how much I'd pay. I would love to be able to have one of these. Great for the ASE collection.

Great coin. Anywhere around 5K is market. Put it in an Intercept Shield single coin enclosure and then in the Intercept Shield box. I had not yet done this for the Belvidere Collection which by the time I did I lost the 95W and 6 PR70DCAMs which is why I retired the set earlier this week. Yuck. Don't delay.

How many reasons do you need?

tons of red lately in the old pcgs price guide when concerning gold
    or silver.
  • It may be the best time to put together MS sets of SAE.
    Prices have stabilized.

The double Intercept Shield system has yet to allow spotting that I am aware of. I HIGHLY recommend it. With one of the top Silver Eagles Registy sets, I wouldn't dream of anything less to protect my collection.

Sounded a little too much like a commercial but that's my opinion for what it's worth. image

A reason not to buy one. Milk spots. After almost all of my 20th Anni. ASE's spotted I've washed my hands of eagles.

Unless you live in AZ or some other very dry climate.

I'll see your bunny with a pancake on his head and raise you a Siamese cat with a miniature pumpkin on his head.

You wouldn't believe how long it took to get him to sit still for this.

Did you try the double Intercept Shield? No. That's why you have spots.
  • Thanks for all your posts! If I buy, will definitely take your advice Griv and do the double Intercept Shield system.

I live in Seattle, I do not have milk spots on any of my silver eagles (about three sets+), and I do not use intercept shields. Cheers, RickO
