  • Check out that '52 Robinson CardKid posted, anybody see anything funny? Check out where the grade is....a bit weird huh? In today's age of everyone being paranoid over counterfeit cards and counterfeit slabs, that jumps out.

PS-not knocking the card if it belongs to someone here; the card looks legit, but man that slab is odd.

I'm sure its a PSA error, but great catch you made.

That Goudey Lefty Grove card has to be one of the best looking cards from any set, IMO.
  • samspopsamspop Posts: 1,993 ✭✭✭
WOW!! That label looks fake....(I still said "WOW", though)!

    image
  • The Robinson was from a Mastro auction a few years ago.

If you go through some old SMR's, you could find it in the Mastro ad. The label looks weird, but thats the way it looked.

I usually saved the ones that were so rare, you'd never seem them again. Like the '52 Campanella. I think there's a few of those around in Mint 9, but how often do you see one?

Or those Mint Goudeys, those are ridiculous. Coming up for a sale, maybe a few times a year. I would never want to sell those.

  • Last card for the day gotta be this one.

    image

I just love checklists. I'm sending in a 1998 Topps Chrome Refractor checklist in with my $5 special image

Didn't this card use to sell for much higher? Auction Link

    Giovanni
  • Gio,

You are in a WOW overload today. I thought you agreed to limit it to one WOW card a day.

That Debusschere is nice, but I perfer the one I pickedup a couple of weeks ago for $19.50 including shipping! Bigger card means a bigger signature which is rarer in my book.

    image

  • Hey Justin,

Couldn't help myself, just to many nice cards out there, and when did I say 1 card per day? I would try to add a card everyday if I got the chance, but not that I wouldn't add more than one image

Yeah man, you got a nice looking DeBusschere auto, I got the Pop Gates like that one, you saw it yet? I put in my registry.

Alright Justin, talk to ya later, and thanks for sharing.

    Giovanni

  • Just ran across this card and it made me say WOW!!!

    Giovanni
  • Don't like that slab, but love that card!!!

    Giovanni

Edited to add: Didn't this card in PSA 10 sell for 80 grand or something? Can this be crossed over?

According to Fleer & Beckett, these were removed from the set. I think this one may have slipped out past quality control before the auction.

PSA should hire Gio to publish the SMR. He never misses a beat asking someone how much they paid for something.

You definetly got a great deal, and you should try to get him to sign the other too, that would be cool.

A lot of guys here do that TTM thing and could probably help you out with his address so you can get it signed.

Try the TTM threads, you might be able to find somebody who knows.

Congrats on those 2, very cool stuff, thanks for sharing!

If you (or anyone) can get Phil Rizzuto to sign that card, please have him sign something for me too. I will pay a $1,000,000,000 finder's fee.

You should pretect it by getting it slabbed.

I just sent in 3 Basketball jersey cards to get graded along with some autos.
