Is there a method to the maddness, or not?

With 54 different varieties of US Presidential Dollars in the very FIRST year with around 13 more years to go, should this edge lettering madness be stopped for all our sanities? With 14 years times 54. well let me see. It's a lot! Oh, wait. It's 756 coins.

Now add the Sacs and that's 1/4 more so that's 945 coins.

What are your thoughts?

It is what it is... and the Mint controls it... go with the flow, since you cannot do anything about it anyway. Cheers, RickO

Another stupid idea for another stupid coin that most people don't even know exists.
The whole dollar coin experiment should be stopped unless the paper dollar is withdrawn.

The TPGSs love it, I bet.
Think of all the extra slabbing fees they get to have generated....

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

And so do all the TV coin hucksters.

    It's 9 years and WOW !
What an expensive year 2007 has been for Presidential Dollars!

The complete variety set is not for the faint of heart.

Actually not. The next President will be #44 so that is 11 years. Then during the 11 years we will have another 3 so that would put it at 12 years which my previous post was in error. Bad math.

    Still, 12 years.

If they could do a good job of it 100 years ago, they ought to be able to get it right now. I'm all for it. It's image

Well, at least IGWT is coming off the edges . . . Maybe that's a start.

Need the following OBW rolls to complete my 46-64 Roosevelt roll set:
    1947-P & D; 1948-D; 1949-P & S; 1950-D & S; and 1952-S.
Any help locating any of these OBW rolls would be gratefully appreciated!

I don't really mind it Griv! I'm sure the US Mint will eventually get it together for a bulk of the coins yet to come. What has been produced so far, actually serves as a reminder to keep on checking and don't necessarily check for the obvious!

What really bothers me are those that take advantage of folks who don't really know what a "Weak Edge Lettered" coin is or what a "Partial Edge Lettered" coin is!

That bothers me. Lots of folks getting taken to the bank!

I see the different varieties as a good, useful tool to bring new collectors into the fold. I mean, the more folks that look at their pocket change, the better off the hobby will be.

BUT, the caviat is that they need to be dead. And only 9 1/2 total years are scheduled for now.
Need to have a few die first, then the series can run a little longer.
So for now only until 2016, the same goes for the Spouse Gold coins and medals.
