    Here's My 2006 P 20th Anniversary Reverse PR66 - PCGS Population = 3

    (16,523) PCGS graded Coins Higher!

    (2) Other Coins Graded same @ Reverse PR66
    (2) Coins Graded Lower @ Reverse PR65

I hated to, but it was necessary to break up one of my sequentially numbered PCGS 20th Anniversary Sets because of this coin.

It was a waste to even try to keep the set together. The other (2) Coins selling with the PR66 were paying the price with it.

ONE spot! The only Coin of my 20th Sets that had one. image

Hard to believe that a modern proof would grade so low.

  • How the hell does the Mint produce a Reverse Proof, a coin produced with such care, that can only garner a PR65? I just cant see it..........

Back in '03 I submitted a six-pack of the Wright Bros. commems to PCGS (my first submission, I think). All came back MS 69 or PR 69 with the exception of the unc. $10 gold. This came back a MS63! Talk about blowing a consecutive series. I'm not sure if this is listed on the pop reports. If it is, that one was mine! They didn't care for the strike as I recall. This is (or should be) a true condition rarity.

  • You can always have your sets reholdered and numbered sequentially, so you can take your 3 best coins and make 1 sequential set out of them. Of course it isn't free.....
I'd keep playing. I don't think the heavy stuff will be coming down for quite a while!

from the photos it appears there is a spot on the mirror detail and the frost, almost dead center on the obverse. if it was on the mirror detail, i woulda stabbed at it.

i had a PR67 that i cracked and got the milk out of a crease on Liberty's dress. it's my display piece at home...in a capsule of course.

here is what PCGS thinks is PR69 DCAM...my cr4p, too

toning spots butt-ugly yet still 69

maybe that's why the toning is blacK?image

Speaking From My Own Personal Experience,Most of These that you see with Low Grades have Been Through PCGS "Spot" Review and Have been Down Graded and returned to the owner along with a little compensation. I Had offers from PCGS on 10 of mine last week, but i decided to Just take the full Buy out as i did'nt care to own any MS or PRDCAM 65's. All of Mine Were PCGS 69 2oth Anniversary ASE's with quite a few First Strikes that are now Gone forever. Ray in Florida..
