Thanks Paul, I'm learning, but hey a first strike coin, I wonder who was working the machine on the test coins. WOW!!

Maybe they forgot to take the top off of the roll.image

Error Coin 2008 $1 PCGS 67 First Strike - Struck Thru Plastic

I guess on this one the Plastic was the "First Strike"! image

I'd be surprised if that sells as the $700 bid has been there almost from the beginning. I think its the sellers minimum price and yes I agree its a bit steep for me.

Although the interesting aspect is that it got the First Strike designation. I'm wondering if it was submnitted as an error in the First Strike timeline along with the request for the First Strike Label.

That other one is interesting as well.

Come to think of it, I get a lot of these Silver Eagles with these little tiny strike through markes on them. They almost look like scrtaches except there is a definite beginning and ending to the marks.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

  • If it's Listed Long Enough, It will Probably Turn Into one of the New ASE Designations, a "Dalmation Variety".....you know...one having spots. Ray in Florida..image

Yep! All those folks concerned about quality control at the US Mint need to pipe down! Me included!

Otherwise, these "errors" would never show up! image
