Has The US Mint Ever Dropped Coin Prices During The Year Offered?

I note that the 2008 W "Burnished Die" gold coins have now been released with the new higher prices to reflect the price of gold (which has now dropped $80-90/oz) - I can not recall them ever LOWERING prices during the year offered; we know they don't mind raising them!

I thought the 2006-W Buffalo was released at $800 and stayed at that until the 2007-W Buffalo was released at $825 which was later raised to $899. I don't recall them ever being less than that. The State Quarter FDCC's were $19.99 when released and were finally lowered to $14.99 last year when they started piling up due to lack of demand
One reason is, they bought the gold 'today' and minted the coins, so they paid $900 + and ounce. Even if gold goes to $700, if they lowered their price, they would lose money.
"regular" coins or special packages might be reduced, but not gold bullion.
