Guys,

I'll ask that we please put our differnces aside for a moment. Please celebrate with me on this. I just won my all-time dream card. A 1949 Bowman Jackie Robinson card. PSA 6.

I know I've been a clown lately, but please just put that aside temporarily, and celebrate with me.

    I know you put aside a few trades to concentrate on this. I wished you luck ... and it worked.

    That's a sweet looking 6! Nice job. One question though, why do you refer him to Rackie? Every time I read that I think of the dog from the Jetson's cartoon.

    Yes, I had about a grand saved up. And I remember that you wished me luck! I appreciate it! This is an incredible night for me. Very exciting addition. And the single-most expensive card I've ever purchased.

    When I originally posted the "Need a Rackie Robonson" thread, it was a legitimate typo. It just kinda stuck after everyone was laughing at it. All in good fun image

    But its well spent because it looks very nice. How much should this card sell for? More or less? Just curious because I don't know much about vintage Baseball, so was just curious.

    Hey Gio! Thanks man, The short answer is "I'll never sell this card"... VCP average is about $100.00 LESS than I paid... but I dont care. This is the nicest 6 I've ever seen, and I've been wathing every Jackie auction for months. It would most likely sell for less than I paid, but I'll never sell it. image

    Make sure you save some real money for your child as well. If we are in a recession in 20 years, it might be hard to move cardboard.

    I don't know how I missed that you had a Musial. Good luck on the Paige. I prefer is 1953 Topps, but that would hardly fit into your 1949 Bowman collection.

    Might even be a good candadite for some .5 bumpage?!?!?!?!

    Yup, I had it and sold it already. I had a post about it HERE and went with a private sale.

    And I totally agre that his 53 is an awesome card! I like the later Jackie's too!

    I just read the comments in blue on the back of that card. Its funny, I thought the wording was a bit choppy and not grammatically correct, and then I realized, they did not use the word "the" in any of the text. Take a look if you are as bored as I am.
