Just got this today. I have never seen a 1953 even remotely close to this in terms of color.
If you have one, please show it!!

These are Irish names for your coin.
would the grade be ms63 or ms64? (probably 64).
I'm thinking it shouldn't be an ms65.

I took the coin outside to see it in natural light.. it is gray cloudy here today... but the coin just lights up outside even under the overcast sky!

Was it a TT pickup? Ebay?
Looks very nice!
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

Looks like AU 53-55 to me. But I agree, who cares with colors like that!?!?!
I actually have another in a 64 holder that has some nice rainbow colored rim
toning, but since I cannot photograph worth a sh*t, I can't post it.
Try this from Northeast -- please, some help with the link.

It would probably have to rank equally with your Franklin as the most colorfully known for the date!
(Now all we have to do is find the Roosevelt; the Jefferson, and a Lincoln that are as wild and place them all, holdered, in a multi-slab for a killer presentation!)

<< <i>Greg, I'm glad you got it. It is a BEAUTY. Unquestionably the nicest toning I've ever seen on a '53.
...and Sy definitely knows his Frankies. Very beautiful coin you got there!!!

<< <i>Hoooooly Schnikies!!!! It's a beast!
I agree 100%
I think your coin got a push in grade too
What did it cost you if I might ask ?? I would guess 600 - 800$ ?

Outstanding color!! I have a bunch of '53 Phiily's but none come close to the colors on that coin, GREAT find!!

PawPaul... It kind of goes w/o saying that a coin with tone like that is going to get a grade bump for the color. And remember, marks are going to be magnified on a big pic like that. The coin looks fully 65 in hand... believe me!!

white obverse? 64 I'm guessing, non-FBL.
John
I'd give it a technical 63, but bump it to 64 for eye appeal.
and how come your buying super toned wildly colored gems for ten times sheet ?
When your supposed to be a Brilliant guy ????
You and that skyman are killing me
Maybe you could edit your first post (insert a mildly toned 53 P) ... and graduate to this point
is much nicer that the example in my SET.
I'd guess that it is MS-64? Thanks for sharing it with us.
Mike.
Someday REAL American HERO's will be on our COINS.

Here is mine... somewhat nicer in hand...basically red and blues. Not too shabby in it's own right.
And here is a p-65 that I know will go 66: again, another crappy scan
this coin has no naturally toned peers
I like it very much.
This is my most colorful 53P and it doesn't even come close.
