I used to be somebody, now I'm just a coin collector.
Recipient of the coveted "You Suck" award, April 2009 for cherrypicking a 1833 CBHD LM-5, and April 2022 for a 1835 LM-12, and again in Aug 2012 for picking off a 1952 FS-902.

Well someone is surely going to get snookered if they think it is a D mint mark and take a chance. Hell in VG 8 it's worth close to $1500.00 according to Coinworld. So we know damn well it is a "S" mint mark. I feel sorry for the chap that tries to steal it and gets it home.image

Someone should buy it and then send her a picture of a real 16-D slabbed and tell her she was right and now you have a 1500-2000 dollar coin for 35 dollars and she how she reacts. image

I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom I provide, then question the manner in which I provide it. I prefer you said thank you, and went on your way, Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon, and stand to post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you are entitled to!

Say he gets $40, after fees won't that be worse than the dealer offer?

    OH, MY PA-PA

Oh, my pa-pa, to me he was so wonderful

Oh, my pa-pa, to me he was so good

No one could be, so gentle and so lovable

Oh, my pa-pa, he always understood.

Gone are the days when he could take me on his knee

And with a smile he'd change my tears to laughter

Oh, my pa-pa, so funny, so adorable

Always the clown so funny in his way

Oh, my pa-pa, to me he was so wonderful

Deep in my heart I miss him so today.

It's an "s". I had a 1916-s in about that condition and I kept it for years, hoping that it would be a "d".

If you look at the questions asked section..........I like how someone suggests they send it to Anacs for authentication, and he responds how he does not know how to do that, yet in another response mentions how they are sending some 1893 S Morgans to Anacs........Idiot scammer!!!

I sent a message to the seller:

I wanted to bid on this coin but just couldn't do it-- I'd feel like I was taking advantage of your grandmother and her dire situation. I'm so sorry about your loss!

    Reply:

Thanks, Grandma appreciates you kind words. We also found several
1893-S Morgan Dollars GrandPa had in his keep sake stuff so we will
send those to ANACS to have them graded. We were told they might be
worth more than the Mercury dime.
