Newest 7070 Type Set additions

coinsarefuncoinsarefun Posts: 21,781 ✭✭✭✭✭
I picked these two up today. My Type set is not looking too shabby now.
I went to the show in Buena Park. The first time and is was nice.
Unless its my imagination, prices on many, many coins are starting to leap forward.

I found a decent 2 Cent. On the obverse it has a streak of yellow color running through it and something about that I liked image

And a Standing Liberty. I think that the slight pastel toning looks well next to Washington.

I think both are AU, which is what I'm shooting for throughout the album(eventually)image

So what do you say?

I'm a fan of both those coins image

I agree that the toning on the SLQ matches well with the Washington.

Those are nice! Stefanie, here is the 7070 2 cent I found a few months back. Fell for it immediatly - I really like that woodgrain in copper. Your 2 center really has character.

Great looking coins. That 3 center (nickel) really shines. I was way to hasty filling holes in mine and now I find myself still unfinished and trying to upgrade at the same time. image

What caught my eye was the 3-cent silver. Not the topic of the post, I know, but I really like the looks of that one.image It's funny, when I first joined PCGS, I raided my 7070 for my first submissions. I basically wanted to protect my better coins, and get the professional grader's opinion. Their opinion was that a sizable number of the coins I had bought to that point had "altered surfaces"!

I think it's way cool that you're essentially building a toned unc set with the looks matching up as closely as possible. Very nice and very nice progress.

Very nice coins and very good photographs - I like the way you put both sides together. I'm also working a 7070 set in AU. Think it's going to be quite a while it's completed.
