what to do with 2006 state quarters?

I have 16 rolls of p and d mint rolled, (purchased from the mint orange wrappers) laying around. What would you do with them?

Take them to the bank, and forget about the loss.

Break them open and pray for a miracle error, and then re-roll them and take them to the bank?

What to do with these losers?

Rob

by the way these are nevada and Nebraska quarters, they have been on the b/s/t forever and no one is interested in these for less than what they sold at from the mint.

For fun, hit the casino, bet the whole lot on the wheel, RED...
  • Buy some beer. That's what I'd do.

Put em on EBay with a reserve at the mints original price.

You may take a loss from the fee's but not nearly as much as face value at the bank! There are many roll collectors that are collecting nothing but the mint wrapped rolls!
As for the BST boards here, I'd be surprised if someone actually responded since these are fairly common modern coins with the exception of the mint papers.

If you do go face at the bank, pop em open to see what you have and then turn em in.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

I sold a few sets on ebay a few months ago. I lost.

I decided to open them, nothing.

Took them to the bank and used the coin counting machine.

Turned them in and got 4 rolls of Monrow dollars , opened them.

    No luck, O well.

It was fun, and now I have a lil bit of cash in my pocket to spend.

Who in the hell would want to buy 2006 rolls of quarters for more than face value? I mean, its not like they made 400 million+ of each of them right? And earlier you called ME a donkey!image

I have some rolls on B-S-T at this very moment, with almost zero interest. Ebay wouldn't be any different, I am guessing. I have no time to open them and look through them. They are truly worth more at the car wash than they are when sitting around gathering dust.

There will be no interest in those as "BULK" until 2235. At that time, a roll will bring $35,465.35.

  • 2 months ago I got sick of looking at my huge inventory of recent(2003-2007) rolls of statehood quarters adn decided to liquidate them. I found I would end up netting below face by selling them on ebay so I took them to the bank. $3800 in BU rolls, which I used to buy silver. Best trade I've made so far this year.

I would go through them looking for MS67, 68, 69 examples for slabbing and bank the rest.

No offense, but I just don't get collecting rolls of uncirculated coins that were made in the hundreds of millions. By the very definition of rare or scarce they can never be rare or scarce....I think you should just spend them. Whatever money you lost is the cost of the lesson you learned. But that's just MHO.

Positive BST transactions with: too many names to list! 36 at last count.
