State Quarter appreciation thread

I like most all the state quarters. Please let me know what your favorite State Quarter design is. Better yet post a photo of it. I already know many of you don't like any of them - if you don't like any please save your comments for a different thread.

One of my favorites is Idaho. I like a clean design and depictions of natural things. If the outline of the state were removed and ESTO PERPETUA was recentered it would be perfect, IMO.

Kansas with the Buffalo. Wisconsin High and Low Leaf. Love them all. I stopped my BS registry set in 04. I may start it up after the state quarter program ends. Just been concentrating in other areas. I believe there is more appreciation on the set registry forum than here.

I have fifteen Whitman folders full of MS coins from US MINT ROLLS.
The golden rim toning on some of these is starting to scare me image

I like the Tennessee quarter . It's the musician in me.

I would have to vote for this one too.

Honestly I can't remember them all so I will have to post back after I go through my Dansco album.

Great program with the state quarters. I have the complete set. By far, the silver proofs are very nice to study. My favorites are Connecticut and Texas.
  • I do like the Florida and the Texas. I wouldn't mind seeitng one of the quarters with the James Monroe stamped on it though. It might be my favorite. Any chance any of you quarter collectors have any insight on those off metal Monroe coins yet? I've been looking in the dollar rolls and striking out, maybe one of you might have seen one in a quarter roll. I doubt it but it never hurts to ask. Kris

  • There are only a few that I really DON'T like (Wyoming is one) and most are pretty neat designs but my FAVORITE is this one:

  • Thanks for the replies! I am happy I'm not the only person who likes these. I'm looking at my "official" collector's map and am missing one or two. Too bad there is no room for the territories. I also like Delaware with the horse and rider, Connecticut with the tree, and Kansas and North Dakaota both with buffalos.
  • I really like them actually... I love the design changes... do they all look great... no... but as a whole a nice set in Proof and UNC... they look great in album form.

my favorites may be 2008... Arizona, Alaska, Hawaii... I like them and look forward to seeing them in change!

and not just cause I live here. IMHO its one of the few designs worthwhile instead of just bunching together a few well known items from each state for a rev, like florida.

rhode island is another i like, mississippi too

I'm sure there will be a new collectors map that includes the territories. Have the fun is building the set and this is a relatively inexpensive one to do. image

Overall they've done a far better job than I ever expected.

Yes there are some that are atrocious and look like clip art but they form
a really good looking set. There are enough variations in grade and and
enough varieties to make the set extremely challenging.

Kudos to the mint who did the best possible with what they had to work
    with.

Congratulations to many of the states which did a good job with their de-
    signs or requests.

I can't wait for the last three designs in BU to see the entire set at once.
