I got my insurance renewal from Hugh Wood today... and through the envelope window I can see...

...clear as day, "Your ANA Coin Insurance Policy...."
I wonder how many people in the USPS now know I have coin insurance!

Probably one at most. I doubt very much that the sorting machines care if you have it or not. Methinks you fret too much. I'd be more concened about how many folks at Hugh Wood know that you have it.

I wonder how many people in the USPS really care. I think you have just a wee bit more viewership right here

It's got to be one of the two.
I thought of a third reason...just plain stupidity.
"“Those who sacrifice liberty for security/safety deserve neither.“(Benjamin Franklin)

<< <i>Do you think the employees take the time to look inside the envelope window? Seems like a lot of risk there. There are some real paranoid people around here. >>
Well, given all the home invasion robberies we hear about here, I think a lot of the caution is justified. I don't see any reason to communicate any more to the "outside world" about your hobby and home address than one cares to give out themselves.

<< <i>Database hacking of Hugh Wood and others poses a more significant threat. Supposed "secure" databases of large organizations are always being compromised. Cheery thought.
Probably so, but there are easier and safer ways for hackers to scam more money from large accounts than to just harvest addresses and plan a home invasion.
