Of the coins I currently have, my PCGS PR70 2006 AGE Reverse Proof. Of the coins I don't have, 1909 S VDB MS67RD or 1909-S IHC, MS67 RD.

Actually, my collection has been in transition from one specialty into two or three others. Assuming that I get fair value for the rest of my coins, this coin might be the keeper:

If you had asked me one year ago, the answer would have been different. Most likely, if you ask me one year from now, the answer will also be different.

Edit: If I had to sell my entire collection and could use the proceeds to buy one coin, the answer would also be quite a bit different.

I have this 1909 S $5 Gold Half Eagle that I bought raw on ebay a few years ago for $220. It graded AU50 at PCGS. For some strange reason, it's become my favorite of all the coins I have. It's not even that valueable.

Edit to add the coin photo (by request) image

    Tough choice.

There are two or three I would like to keep but this one would take priority till I can find a nicer one in the same grade.

  • Either my first Saint (1926 NGC MS63) or my Fugio cent... It'd be a tough choice.

  • Tough choice, but it would have to be my 1795 half in PCGS 8.

There'd be no point for me in keeping just one, so I wouldn't keep any.

This is a good question and I think that once I got down to the last four or five pieces that I would be stuck.

That is a painful question for one with a hoarder's mentality to ponder!

But it has produced some very nice coin pics! Some yummy gold and that 1856 half cent is a beaut!

I have to agree and I'm not sure if I could narrow it down for sure to just 1 - but I guess I like my 1773 Virginia Half Penny the best. It has the most history attached to it and I know many of my ancestors handled the coin at one time or another.

It is a toss-up. My second barber half and my favorite (1912-S) and the coin I found when I was selling my collection that helped respark my interest enough to finish the set (1892-O). The 12-S only cost $85.00 so it would be no financial loss at all to keep it until I die.
