Counterfeit Trade Dollar?

While looking at this dollar, I noticed the last number was bigger then the rest. I have a bad feeling this is fake, but would like some opinions. I believe I bought this in 2003 and it was my first.

    Better pictures would help but yes, I do believe it is a chinese fake.

    I agree, does not look right. But, I'm looking more at the denticles. Not even enough for my blood.

    I would usually reserve opinion until full view enlarged images are presented, but in this case I'll simply say N.G. image

    Unfortunately, it is a fake... looking at the denticles, then the reverse - the fletches on the arrows above the MM and other details are way off.... Cheers, RickO

    Thanks ricko. That was my first coin and only Trade dollar I ever purchased. Lesson learned.... image

    Fake. Never, ever buy a raw trade dollar unless you know exactly what you're doing!

    I almost hate to ask, but have you weighed this or can you weigh it raw? It should weigh 27.22 grams, and I would be curious if it is not real, what it weighs.

    Not sure but it also has that cast look to it.

    Lessons are usually hard learnt and TDN has it right, until you can recognize all of the different fakes buy slabbed.

    Recipient of the coveted "You Suck" award, April 2009 for cherrypicking a 1833 CBHD LM-5, and April 2022 for a 1835 LM-12, and again in Aug 2012 for picking off a 1952 FS-902.

    Bogus. Most raw Trade Dollars from eBay are fakes.
    CU members have grown tired of repeating the warning.
    It is a safe bet that most Trade Dollars in 7070 albums
    are also fakes.
