  • I didnt know that die crack came on the '18. Only have seen it on the '20. No clue on the grade, but guess it may be a slider 58/60?

    Looks to be an N-10 from the Randall Horde, Rarity 1. A lot of red on many of these.

    Depending on the amount of lustre remaining, this example would typically slab at MS62-63RB. In these two grades, there are over 150 in PCGS holders. Interestingly, 1818's account for almost a quarter of MS63 RB Matron Head cents slabbed by PCGS. The 1820 is slightly more common in the higher grade of MS64RB, and there are no 1818 MS65RB's although there are over 100 1820 MS65RBs. I wonder why the differing distribution of grades in these cents which presumably all came from the same horded kegs in the late 19th century.

    Lots of red on that coin. I would grade it MS-62RB as there are too many marks on it for a higher grade.

    Clearly a Randall hoard coin, nice.
