How about a counterfeit post?

I haven't seen one here for some time now.
So, lets see them
All are cast except for the Peace dollar. She's real except for the oven baked toning.

Although the weight and silver finess is correct, there are a couple of die marker that are the 'tells' and give this one away.
Otherwise, it's a pretty good one as the edge markings are correct and it is die struck on a good planchet.
I'd only purchase these older dollars certified (now).

And they are made of real silver too...
Three counterfeit lettered edge bust halves, struck 1830s-40s. The 1838 thus has an anachronistic design.

Also, the edge lettering on this counterfeit has been linked to counterfeit 1795, 1796 and 1797 Draped Bust dollars.
The yellowing antiquing is pretty consistend on these 1795 Flowing Hair dollars, FWIW.

my gosh, all those are counterfeit? They look like VERY well made middle eastern counterfeits.
Where did you get those? >>
These were the focus of another thread. He inherited them and found out they were counterfeit after the fact.
