If I could find someone to take it off my hands, for more than a dime, I would sell in a heartbeat

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

There are people, not a lot, but a few... who really like these type of anomalies. If it were me, I'd post it on the BST seeking interested parties , requesting a PM as to value and soliciting any reasonable offer.

Every coin is looking for it's rightful owner, and your question tells me you are not the right owner and it's a lonely coin looking for a new home. image. I mean that with all respect. I don't think rare belongs in your question, sommerj.

I love dimes... I got enough of them image
...and thank you for posting them.
  • So does the barber dime look ligit, i can not tell myself or even know the type error it would be.

    Thanks!
  • It is actually struck through thin strips of lint and is not at all rare or even scarce, particularly on 1968-1972 era proof coins.

I think the rim looks complete without any tool marks. I cannot identify it, though. Someone knows. Fred Weinberg or a host of others.

Yeah, it looks like a real error on the Barber dime and it's interesting. From the photos, it looks as though that area where the metal is missing from the edge to the dentils, that the rim may be thin. Is this the case ? It's unique, but again... it's something that only a few might find interesting. The mechanical guys who are intriqued by strike and die errors such as clips might know a lot better than me.
  • Well i put the proof on ebay, hopes it finds a home. might do the same on the barber both at 95 cents no reserve seems fair.
  • Here is a close up hope that helps.
    Thanksimage
