Very Pissed Off I bought a 1986/2007 Proof Silver Eagle Set and Recieved Ms set instead.

I recently bought a complete set of Ngc graded coins on a tv coin show called AANtv.com coin show on channel 324 on Direct Tv out of St Petersburg Fla. On the screen the auctioneer was talking/selling/auctioning and showing a beautiful complete set of (NGC Proof 69) Silver eagle Ultra Cameo bullions dollars, I made a bid of $800.00 and the auctioneer said I STOLED IT, he sold it. He stated buyer you got a steal of a deal!! Happy as a lark, I paid with my Bank card and the juice + shipping was $887.95. I even verified it with the customer service rep and she told me yes indeed a complete Proof set.

Ok a week later I get my delivery and boom, there is a complete Mint State set of 1986/2007 in a raggy piece of $hit box and the coins are not PRoof cameos. I called right away and they told me they had to view the tapes and listen to the taped phone calls. Two days later I get a call and they tell me, yes you saw the correct coins on the tv screen and the auctioneer did say you stoled it, sold the proofs to you, but the Graphics/information at the bottom of the screen were for a complete set of (Mint State Silver eagles), not the Proof cameos. I said that is not flucking fair, I also told them I would never buy another thing from them. She said send them back and we will give you a full refund. Make matters worse she told me that I couldn't get a refund on my shipping the coins back to them, but instead they would give me a $25 credit towards another sale with them.

Now here is their policy, they are not responsible for "ERRORS OR OMISSIONS" what in the world does that mean, while just last night the auctioneer put a $1,499.00 VS 1 H quality 1/2 carat diamond ring 18k band and put a buy it now price of $149.00 instead of $1,499.00 and had to sell it to the buyer due to policy. $149.00 for a 1/2 carat top of the line diamond ring and band the gold band had 12 grams of 18k gold in it.

Help me out dealers and coin experts do I have any recourse? I did Tivo the sale that night and did noticed the graphics did state MS, but that was not what he was selling. Thanks For any help.

I notice you joined here in December. Did you order these after December? If so, I find it hard to believe with all the horror stories here, that anyone who reads these boards regularly would buy from these home shopping clowns.

Just tell them you would be happy to work with their terms and could you have the names of the people you talked to? You want to make sure everything is accurate for the newspaper and TV news channels that you will tell your story to image

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

When my Grandma was alive, she knew I collected coins and without fail, every Birthday and Christmas I would get some TV gimmic coin, like an old west set of coins in a capital like holder that had a harshly cleaned Indian, Buffalo and a few other coins. I never had the heart to tell her that this was total crap.

Booky this is a consignment auction house, it's not like Shop at home or HSN, it's like fleebay sort of, the coins I placed a bid on were beauties. And yes I did say recently in my opening but this was in November/07 according to my Tivo date. What made me write this is what I saw last night when they "SAID" they had to give the buyer that ring in mentioned.

Still waiting for what "Omissions And Errors mean they are not responsible for?

1600 miles at least, last time I went from Maryland to Ft Myers it was exactly 1723 so I zoom past St Pete around the 1600 mile mark.

Very true. You should be happy to get any money back at all. I know you say it's not HSN, but it's still a TV show. Lesson learned.

Though it stinks you got the wrong set..........you did violate Rule #1!!!

Send 'em back yesterday!!! There should be some way to get shipping refunded both ways, seeing how THEY sent MS and not proof. Squeaky wheel, remember that.

Considering the cost of running /brodcasting a TV show you should understand that they can never, never, never offer anything at a fair price.
If you watch and think "hey that's a bargin" think again.
They are at best good viewing in order to help you learn how to spot the lie.

I have to say the only thing I ever bought from the tube was a really nice Swiss Legend watch. I have it on right no. Its the best watch I have ever owned. I also got a good deal on it.

I guess as long as you got your chedder back, thats all that matters.

I checked the website out...they are selling stuff like this??????

I would watch it and wait for that $1,499.00 ring to show up for $149.00 and leave the coins alone....

edited to add: notice its in a CW holder.....I know you all could see it, just a point of reference

Well, "lucky" may be strong since it will still cost you something. I think saying a return will turn this into relatively "cheap tuition" might be more appropriate.

Sorry that you got hosed. I hope that you avoid them like the plague in the future.

I don't know that I would be willing to wade through their muck waiting to catch them in a mistake and get a rip - I mean, they've got MS64 NGC Morgan common dates for sale on the website at the low, low price of $150. OTOH, I'll sell you all you can stand @ $125 delivered image
