Anything that can be done to help this poor AH Kennedy?

Looks like it took a bad dip (not by me).

Would another bath help or hurt the problem?

Anybody have any suggestions to make it a little less dalmation like?

It is possible to remove light spotting on proofs. Not sure what PCGS uses for this. If it was an MS coin you would be out of luck.

It looks far enough along that I would just give up on it.

Maybe Russ has some ideas? Put his name in the title and you are sure to get lots of answers from this forum.

You can thank the Mint for those spots, and the best you can do is learn to like them.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained. It is junk now... try dipping.... first acetone - let it soak for a few hours.... rinse in warm water. May not help, but since the conaminant is unknown, it might. Next try one of the stronger dips like MS-70 - neutralize after dip in baking soda and warm water.. then rinse with DI water... blow dry. Just some suggestions - good luck. Cheers, RickO

I sent one to NCS that looked like that, and it came back looking exactly the same. I posted it here, and Russ said that milk spots are common on the 64 AH's...

Diagree that it is junk silver....lots of people, like me, love the AH Kennedy still and would still like it!

For those who think the spotting is attractive and just want to pass it off as just being normal well it isn't.These coins are not meant to look that way.Even the Silver Amer Eagles have problems with them and it's up to the Mint to rectify the situation.
And for those who are not informed of ..other ..coins also..the Sacagawea coins have a rinse problem as well.They also have spots..and it is very distracting when you want to find a nice coin..

If I recall correctly, some, not all types of the spotting can also occur in AH Kennedys in general. Russ of course has an encyclopedic knowledge on this topic.

He did have an article up on the web describing this issue as well. I am certain you can find the link with ease. Just Gogle Accented Hair Kennedy. Mine is a PCGS PF 64, no spots but there are marks in the field etc etc. BUT, thats fine by me as I just wanted a decent example.

HOWEVER, somebody had a little fun with that coin........its not junk, but its something you could put in an album?

What you have there are microspots! Some mint worker sneezed on your coin!

You could dip it again in ezest using a proper method. That should do it.
