I thought it was a silver roosie at first becuase I have never seen a dime, even from the 60's in circulation with this much wear......imagine my surprise when I saw the coin was dated 1995 It's certainly possible that this coin didn't have a great strike to begin with but it certainly looks like a good deal of wear as well. I am not a low grade collector or submitter but I thought I would share the images so folks can see just how much a modern coin that circulates can wear down in 12 years.....enjoy

Could be right.....I know of nickel slots......not too hard to imagine there are dime slots somewhere
i think that dime was blocking a hole in someones shoes

<< <i>wear patterns are all wrong on that coin - this is not natural wear - the rims are gone, but the higher relief centers are still visible and identifiable. me thinks the coin was sanded down with a wheel or something else >>
I'd agree with this.
Looking at the picture, the wear doesn't appear natural...it appears to have been helped...some kind of "sanding job" was my first thought.
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

That's true of low grade Barber Quarters and Halves isn't it? The rims always wear down first on those coins.
For the record....I had and have no idea if it had help but if the powers that be on these boards think it has been played with then I am likely to believe it since that's a lot of wear
