Interesting low grade modern dime pulled from circulation

I thought it was a silver roosie at first becuase I have never seen a dime, even from the 60's in circulation with this much wear......imagine my surprise when I saw the coin was dated 1995 image It's certainly possible that this coin didn't have a great strike to begin with but it certainly looks like a good deal of wear as well. image I am not a low grade collector or submitter but I thought I would share the images so folks can see just how much a modern coin that circulates can wear down in 12 years.....enjoy image

At first glance I say Casino coin, but I'm not sure if they use dimes in those places.

Could be right.....I know of nickel slots......not too hard to imagine there are dime slots somewhere image

wear patterns are all wrong on that coin - this is not natural wear - the rims are gone, but the higher relief centers are still visible and identifiable. me thinks the coin was sanded down with a wheel or something else

    I'd agree with this.
Looking at the picture, the wear doesn't appear natural...it appears to have been helped...some kind of "sanding job" was my first thought.

If it's natural wear - SWEET. If it's not natural wear it's still kinda sweet.

That's true of low grade Barber Quarters and Halves isn't it? The rims always wear down first on those coins.

It's kinda hard to imagine that a nickel-clad piece could have that much wear on it, unless it was artifically done. Silver coinage wears out much much faster than their nickel-clad counterpart.

The reverse is filed. I'm not sure what's going on with the obverse but the "wear" is natural.

Well I am not planning on spending it and if I keep it as a pocket piece thats what will accidentally happen so I will just hold onto it for a conversation piece image

For the record....I had and have no idea if it had help but if the powers that be on these boards think it has been played with then I am likely to believe it since that's a lot of wear image
