AGE Proof ASE Proof Mint Packaging vs TPG/PCGS How do you collect

For those who collect American Gold Eagle (in all denominations) in Proof or the American Silver Eagles, do you prefer to collect them in the original Mint packaging (Box, certificiate etc) or do you collected them Slabbed by a TPG such as PCGS?

Also, is there a specific reason you like either the TPG over Mint packaging or Mint Packaging over TPG slabbing?

Lastly, if you are collecting the Liberty sub set of the First spouse coins do you prefer to collect them in the original Mint packaging (Box, certificiate etc) or do you collected them Slabbed by a TPG such as PCGS?

Your opinions are welcome

Thanks

If I buy a coin from the Mint, I'll keep it as is. Mint's coin capsule is beautiful and doesn't tarnish or get dirty like some of my coins in PCGS, NGC, and ANACS holders. Furthermore, I can hold the coin capsule and view the edge of the coin.

If I buy a coin from another source, I still prefer OGP.

I retain the coins in the mint holder. I prefer them in the original holder, and do not need another opinion to bolster my grading skills. I will not collect the hags, either full or sub-set... I consider them trinkets with no redeeming value in art or numismatics. Cheers, RickO

I have a couple Silvers in slabs but 95% of mine are in OGP or a Dansco.

P.S. Ricko, you're awfully hard on those poor spouses! Makes me think you're secretly hoarding them... image

Original Packaging for all my Proof Gold, Platinum and Silver coins image

Personally I find these coins third party graded as a wait of time and money.....
