Orders currently at PSA.....1/2 grades or not?

I had an order logged in last week; presumably the cards will be graded in the next couple of days. Will the new 1/2 grades be applied to these or not?

This is a poor decision by PSA in my opinion. Count me as one--of the apparent majority--who are opposed.

The 1/2 grade system goes into effect on February 1st, so I don't think so. The more interesting question is what about orders that are logged in in late January? Are they subject to .5 grades? Or is it just orders received 2/1 or later?

Why would anyone send in a submission between now and Feb 1 knowing it will not be graded under the new system?

That is why there could only be a two-week notice.

Otherwise, January would have been dead at HQ.

If I was in charge, the notice would have only been
    7-days.

exactly... maybe they should make a customer service call to orders already in house.. to find out which way the submitter wants it..

I think they should have started today with the .5 system. (not that I agree with it)

    I agree.

BUT, for whatever reason, some folks may not have wanted
the 1/2 grades. Those folks could have had a contract dispute.

Now, everybody has time to decide and can sign the correct order-forms.

I just hung up the phone with customer service and all new orders coming in will be graded using the .5 scale.

thought you all might want to know.

I see no recourse for the submitter.

Even a stop-payment check or credit-card stop would do nothing
to change the terms on the order form that was signed and submitted.

While it does seem grossly "unfair" on a 220-card submission, there
is not a way to change the it-is-what-it-is factor. Of course, PSA could
decide it was "unfair," and make an exception on a case-by-case basis.

So what is it? one person says it will be the old way, another says they are in fact doing it? or is that for orders received from today going forward?

geez such an easy thing that has been made so complicated.

See my post above. I called in regards to a modern bulk sub I sent in that was received last Friday but not yet logged. I was told that it would be graded (like all incoming subs) with the .5 scale.

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that the Feb special will relate to this move. Maybe a $5 special for all reviews? They should do something since there are obviously people who aren't very pleased right now.

I guarantee it will not be $5 for all reviews. If that's the case this whole mess will be cleared up quickly. They want to charge people tier prices for the reviews. I really can't imagine sending in $70 bulk sub cards in PSA 8 hoping to get 8.5's. So to me the bulk subs do not really apply. What I'm having a hard time grasping is the fact that I sent in a raw 64 Mantle for $15 level and it graded an 8 and now I have to have it reviewed for $35. Grading cards is getting beyond costly. The only concern I have is that the pricing be fair which they have already stated is not going to be. Much more expensive to review than grade raw. My example is PSA's example- a 1955 Koufax in an 8 would have to be submitted at the super express level while an ungraded mint one could be submitted for the express price- this doesn't seem fair. Remember the price should not have anything to do with the grading of the card it's just for insurance purposes. Also, they have eliminated the turn around times. image

I don't agree with this half grade business. If I did, I'd more than likely just go with another company. Is there going to be a box to check on submissions to avoid half grades? I'll never submit/renew again if I have to mess with this crap.

I sent an email to customer service with no reply yet as to whether or not my 6 card sub which was logged in today will be graded using the new service or the old. I'll post when I get the reply. My sub was a $13/5 day special.

    Good day,
I spoke today to Laura Rosenberg, I have a 112 card sub I sent on Monday, they have it and it is not logged in yet. She informed me, she will send me an E-Mail and when I authorize it by replying to the e-mail, that that sub and an 11 card sub still in process, But, And I Stress But, "Not Yet Graded" will be held for two weeks and then logged in and graded under the new half point system.
