I bought this today at my local coin shop. It was so ugly that I thought it was kind of cool.

    Looks like heat.
    Weird toning.

I had one, not so dramatic, that toned sitting in a windowsill over my heating vent. Didn't even realize it for awhile as it wasn't something I was trying to tone that way.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

    know what you don't know.

    hi, i'm tom.

i do not doctor coins like some who post in here.

  • here's one i saw on ebay last year. it was purchased by someone i recognize as a forum member,
hope he/she doesn't mind me using the ebay image. being first strike my first thought was something was
done to it in the holder, so i kept the image as an example for reference.
looks almost identical pattern to yours

Looks like a match cullenbryant.image Yours is first strike also.
I thought the first strike non W mintmark ASE coins had to come out of a mint sealed monster green box. I don't see a coin toning like this in a sealed green monster box.
  • It's not toning, It's rainbow milk spotting.........

Hard to say....I don't think they slabbed it, but it is possible.
I sold, raw and bullion, the one I had to a forum member.....I didn't like the look by the time I saw what had happened to it, but, under the definitions, I would say the one I had was NT and BU at the same time (Naturally Toned and Butt Ugly image ).
