The TrueView is great but the only thing that bothers me about it is that it never says what it is.

Nice coin. I'm envious. The Cheerios is the last "real" coin I consider that I need to complete my Sacagawea Collection. That and all the 2008 stuff that just came out. I hesitated to buy a couple a year or so again at $2000 and the SpaceMonkey beat me to the Discovery specimen piece by just a little bit on ebay. Now the reality is that unless I stumble upon one somewhere I probably won't shell out that kind of money for one. You guys that have them are lucky to own such a historical piece of mint history. (At least how I see it)

This makes me want to start collecting the rest of the series since I stopped in 2004. I can't right now but maybe in a few years when the coins are inexpensive in high grades. MS68s and MS69s are cheaper these days. Looks like the mints standards are getting better.

Great looking coin-congrats! Does anyone know why on the PCGS price guide there is a cheerios category for the SAC $ but not the Lincoln Cent? Just curious.

Cheerios should do that with the sac's in '09. Anyone know if it's possible?

    tmcsr69,

The Cheerios Cent is just a normal Lincoln Cent in Cheerios packaging. It might command a premium becuase it came from the Cheerios packaging but I don't see much. Unless, it too was made from a different die, then that wil be something. The Cheerios Dollar is FS-401 which uses a different die from 1999.

I did a search on the cheerios Sac and came across this. I am not capable of buying it but if someone out there was or would like to ask some questions, here is a link to one.

Just a note, the coin in the link shown in the above post is the stolen coin that belongs to a fellow board member.

    wow where's spacemonkey?

i have MS67's that look nicer than that. that eyebrow hit is big, 2003-D (no cheerios),

but true view brings out the best and worst of coins sometimes

    eCoinquest,

Is that link to the stolen coin something known or did I just discover this stolen coin? Is that link new or old? I hope the board member gets his coin back.

    57loaded,
The TrueView brings out details in the coin, even ones that you do not want. I do think the coin could have been lit at another angle to lose the amount of shadow which would reduce the amount of chatter. The shadows to the right side of obv/rev of the coin are due to the highly reflective surfaces. Some Sacs look frostier than others while others appear to mirror-like.

Yup. And how about adding the new Lincoln, too? New SAC, new Abe in a similar Cheerios promotion like the 2000. image

I wonder who the alleged scammer in Omaha was.... I'm not certain I believe the story in this link. Something just doesn't sound right. I do think we have a fellow board member with at least 3 of these interesting coins. Thanks for that link, SemperFi...

It's worth investigating further... I think the thief of Kaelasdad's Cheerios Sacagawea was caught but not the coin.
