First by topic, then by author, and then I scan the last responder list because there are several members here whose opinions I value and tend to read much of what they write.

Topic, level of boredom and author in that order.

I look for the ones that have over 100 posts because that usually means there's a food fight.

If there's a lot of question marks involved, I can't be bothered. It's the oldest chat forum trick in the book, feigning interest in something and then drawing others in by phrasing it in the form of a question. I doubt anyone with a brain would fall for it.

I look at them a little differently than I look at coins. With coins, I use a loupe.

I normally, in the morning scan them for the word "seated" in it, than "pattern", than I look up a few authors and by then I always hope my coffee is ready so I can dive into the other stuff.

I start on page 1 and work my way back to where I had left off then
go to the registry and darkside forums. PM's always get priority unless
I'm past pg 1 on this forum.

I read everything of direct interest and other topics depend on author
and last poster. Some authors I'll look at almost everything but it al-
    ways depends on the topic.

I usually keep a few windows open and am catching up with other
    sites at the same time.

I look for the all-important keywords, like: morgan, dmpl, prooflike, or stay away from ....... on ebay.
The last one always goes 100+, and as Russ said, there will probably be a little mudslinging involved.
Listen. Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.

    ... and popcorn!

I like to go by topic, then author, things that interest me and then things that don't - never know what I'll learn there. Long threads are usually interesting... for awhile! Then my sig line below makes sense.
Have bought and sold on BST, many references available when asked.

I scan by topic and then by number of posts, I like to read information from as many different sources as possible. Many times i'll look through a post then search for posts made by authors whose opinions i thought were valid. I've learned alot about many different subjects using this technique.

Starting on page 1 and working my way back to where I left off.
    Depends on the topic -
Most Favorite - threads with coin pics inside.
Least Favorite - threads asking to grade a coin from a picture. Almost never read them.
