I have a limit of four hundred dollars,

1) purchase the three piece set

2) purchase Only Silver & Clad Proofs & unc coins (4) each

3) I'm not so Sure about gold @ this time

What would you do ?

Gonna keep them? Then the 3 coin set.

Try to flip them? 10 of the silver dollars.

The dollars will eventually sell out, keep them for a while and do not worry about milkspots.

    Damn those milkspots.

I'd buy the $5 gold UNC and the UNC or Proof silver dollar. The gold UNC's are always the home runs since they usually have less than half the mintages.

To my knowledge silver commems haven't milk spotted. They are a different composition than silver eagles. If anyone has information on silver commems milk spotting I'd like to know. Thanks.

Did I figure this right? I get the 3 proof coin set is more expensive than buying the coins individually.

....there will be only 25k boxes made so you are buying some kinda thingy if there will be a special label made for a sealed boxed sent in for grading otherwise yeah you figured this right.

kinda dumb but only if you want the box i guess. i could be worng but i do NOT see this as a sleeper.
  • The Proof versions in a 70 grade will go for more than the Uncirculated 70's so I'm going with the Proof's. I also like the Chargers on Sunday image

    i gotta hear this reasoning.....
    image
  • The 14 point spread is the biggest in a Conference championship in a long time. The -14 points is waaay too much to give the Charger defense which will keep it close, especially when you consider that the Pats have only been winning by a margin of 3 points in the last 4 out of 5 games.

  • I think I will get the two gold (one each of proof and unc) and two silver dollars (again one each proof and unc) I do not

like the half (screaming eagles) . That's why I won't buy the 3 piece set. Does anyone else think the eagle on the reverse

of the gold and the dollar looks like they're suffering from malnutrition? Also, it's been mentioned before about a

special designation label for the 3 piece set if unopened from the mint. I haven't heard any reaction to that here, but has

there ever been a commemorative set given a special designation in the past?

No, but the Chargers played them last year in the playoffs and lost by 3 21-24 image Current game forecast calls for 16 degrees and 10% chance of snow.

The three coin proof set is limited to 25k. A low enough mintage to possibly be a signifigant gainer.

Who knows, more offerings, I so damn confused.

I just got into the spouses, now Eagle commem's then this then..................

The Chargers are one of the best road teams. Their straight up away record the last 4 years is 21-12. The Charger pass rush defense is more than capable of going into New England and keeping the game close. The line is way too high given the Pats unbeaten season. Defense will decide this one, take the points.

Now, now, take your boring OT comments elsewhere --

OK - I vote the dollars -- unc will be the lower mintage, but proofs will take the popular vote and stay a premium. The halves are...UGLY - IMHO only...

The reverse of the clad half looks good, but I don't care for the obverse with the egg right in the middle. I'll probably get a proof and uncirc of the silver dollar, and possibly a proof of the clad half.
