Here are the links to a couple of coins that I purchased on bad photos off of Ebay.

Money well spent #1?

Here are the actual coins I recieved, How do you think I did with the prices I paid and what would you grade them?

I'd say you did quite well. The Indian appears to be 58RB and the Two Cent looks at least EF45.

The 2 Center looks like an especially nice High AU

VERY nicely done! Sometimes these little risks pay off quite well.

Can't beat the prices you paid! The IHC looks like a $25.00 coin at least, and the 2 center double that.

Nice. Sometimes you roll the dice and crap out. Other times you roll the dice and get a 7. This is a 7.

I remember the vast majority of us saying that the Indian looked good and the 2- center looked like a loser- who knew? Good eye for bad pics!image

Thanks, both coins are problem free. I would grade the 2 center AU-50 and nice choclate brown, and the Indian is probably 58, but is a very late die state and has pretty mushy details. All in all, pretty happy with the purchases, and the 2 cent piece went into the 7070.

Wish I had more time to learn how to make scores like these. It would be a great way to build a type set on a budget. image

Money well spent, indeed. Almost "you suck" territory, in fact.

And I was surprised to find myself agreeing with the seller's grades.

Both are strong AU coins in my book. And the amount of red on that Indian cent is well above average.

OK... I think you've earned this.

Love the 2 cent!! The last time I took a chance like that I received a 1909 IHC with a tooled reverse and some pretty oven cleaner toning.image
    Nice score.

Looks like you can glean the same info from all of the photos.

    Nice catch it seems.

Thanks............Maybe a You Suck Lite is more in order.

I enjoy trying snag these little bargains off of Ebay. The key, is never spend more money than you are willing to spend for a problem coin. I've filled a few holes in the 7070 with nice problem free AU and higher coins at nearly half what I would've paid had the photos been quality or I went to a B/M shop. I've also funded quite a few purchases with these little bargains. The risk is, sometimes you get a piece of crap.

The IHC luster was evident in seller's pix. The 2 center seemed a bit more of a gamble. Appears that both panned out well for you.

    Congrats!
