Conjecture re: those nasty spots on coins

Hello all,

I saw a show re: the minting process the other day.
I believe that the last step of the process included
blowing the dust off the coin and holder before
being encased.

Here's the conjecture:
I know that most compressors require some kind
of lubrication and I do believe that some of that
can be atomized and delivered at your target
when blowing off dust, etc.
Do you believe that some of that lube can be
accidentally placed on the coin during this process?

    Yes, it is entirely possible if filters are not used (and well maintained). Cheers, RickO

    Unless its water soluble its hard to imagine how lube might be moisture activated at a later time to form milk spots.
