Hmmmm.....can't pick the right investment AND can't do math
The worst thing a person can do is to compound one mistake by doing something foolish and swinging for a home run on the next pitch that looks close. For average people financial home runs are rare events. Exceptional folks like to tell their Ruthian tales of their tape measure successes. So much so, that every day folks think that they are more common than they are.
For average folks, average collectors, being average and getting average returns and avoiding foolish mistakes are reasonable goals. For average folks that translates into paying off high interest debt, and averaging into diversified age appropriate investments. It isn't exciting, but slow and steady tends to win the financial race for average people.

Storing hundreds and hundeds of pounds of silver bullion really isn't all that big of a deal either.
Storing over a ton of it isn't all that difficult, not when one considers the returns.
It actually seems like a very easy task.
It's why banks have large vaults they will rent you and even the cost of that is deductable.
If one stays on top of things and buys and sells on the dips and rises the return could be much, much higher than just the differential in the spot prices.
Naysayers needn't bother, you certainly can predict with some degree of accuracy. At least some people can with study and work.
Silver is quite the volitile metal and that can be used to your advantage.

The silver spike back then was artificial.
You shoulda bought MS.
Back then I was trying to support a new family and three babies, no money for investments and barely enough at times to keep everybody healthy and well fed under a decent roof.
Even better, you could have bought Dell just a couple years after that with what was left of your silver holdings and you'd be in great shape today.
Still, no regrets and happy is all that matters.

Guess I overpaid at around $8.80 and overpaid again in 3/06 at $10. Should've started buying a year earlier.

You didn't overpay, but you could have started back in '00-'01 like many of us did.
Both gold and silver have been outstanding investments and will continue to do so for several more years.

I was kidding when saying that I overpaid. But I wish I continued buying bullion after that. I was running into the whole storage problem so I bought some SLV and more recently pm stock.
