If Orlando Cepada is in the HOF, isn't Frank Thomas a shoe-in?

Please discuss.

<< <i>Frank Thomas is a HOF'er on his own merit. No need to compare him to anyone else. >>
Agreed.

Frank Thomas deserves to be in the Hall-of-Fame because he is a great player, not because of how he compares to drug users
Thomas is a no brainer for me, he meets both the benchmark numbers (500 homers) and was the dominant player in the game in the early 1990's.

<< <i>Correct. The comments of the ESPN baseball nabobs notwithstanding, 500 is still a hallowed mark anyway. Most of the juicers are closer to or above 600 and they can clearly be seen - Bonds, Mac, Palmeiro, Suser, etc. - without reference to 500 HR's. Take those clowns away and all the rest above 500 deserve induction, as will Man Ram when he gets there next year.

Who's Suser???
Aha, Sosa!!
Now imagine a healthy Ken Griffey Jr. over his whole career....his numbers would be incredible. Because of all this crap lately, I appreciate what Griffey did a whole lot more.
<< <i>The whole steriod thing makes me appreciate what guys like Thomas have done over his career. He should be a lock for the HOF.

so true. I respect both these guys. I remember following them on the Beckett "Hot List" when I was a kid. For like 2 years, Thomas was #1 and Griffey was #2.
such a good time.
<< <i>IMO we might see a bunch of guys make the Hall now, especially after this Mitchell report. Hopefully guys like Hodges, Rice ect.. will get in now! >>
How does Palmeiro & Roger Clemens being named as steroid users somehow make a borderline candidate from 40 years ago, like Gil Hodges, HOF-worthy? It's not like somebody being named as a roid user magically adds 75 HRs to Gil's total...

The same could be said for Mickey Mantle. Didn't he too have problems with his legs or something during his career that had he not had them, could've been even greater?

i dont think it will help guys that have been on the block for a long itme much from that era. Its not like their stats have improved since they retired 30-40 years ago.
