Because of the lack of shows between now and FUN next year, what do dealers typically do in the inte

I view the beginning of the month of December as the unofficial end of the numismatic year. To my knowledge, there are no big shows until FUN next year, which I believe starts on January 10th. Between now and FUN, what do dealers typically do? Is there a push to do a year-end blow out sale? Do they spend a lot of time writing up performance reviews for staff members? Or is it just a time to rest and regroup for another numismatic year?

This is a very big time of year in dealer's shops.

Plus, like everyone else, dealers like a little time off for the holidays.

Still working 24/7, but do not have to travel to shows.

I firmly believe in numismatics as the world's greatest hobby, but recognize that this is a luxury and without collectors, we can all spend/melt our collections/inventories.

Do they spend a lot of time writing up performance reviews for staff members?

How long do you think it takes? Here, watch this...

Performance reviews?? I'd be surprised if more than ten firms out there do formal performance reviews.

We use this time to go on vacation or to spend some time off. That's what I'm doing this week. Normally in the past July has been a slow month but with the addition of several larger shows being added July has become as busy as can be.

Isn't this the time when dealers bundle up all their extra coins and wrap them with bright colored paper and bows to give back to their customers a little of those profits they made off of their customers as a measure of gratitude for keeping them in business all year? Merry Christmas. (Oh, I'd forgot - Scrooge was a coin dealer.)
