Is it really "U.S.Coin Forum" material? Perhaps the mod thought otherwise.

It got political, and that pretty much means it will devolve into the online forum version of Wrestlemania.

Frankly, I'm tired of partisan politics coming up everywhere I go. I support a "shoot on sight" policy against overtly political posts on this forum.

It should have been in the Bush Bashing forum.

  • Behind the scenes politics plays an important part with our coinage. It is imbeded in the mix. It's a shame that some of the threads are quickly nuked. But it is not my say....Indeed there can be some prolonged historical discussions on matters. But alas..!!! Our main subject is coins........image

Civil discussion of the politics directly affecting our coinage and money are germane, IMO. The problem is that it is virtually impossible to keep anything from bursting into flames as soon as politics or religion are invoked, even on those rare instances where it is relevant and on-topic.

    3 pages and no coins?

Plus it leads to some complaining and whining in a way that makes the political posts pale in comparison. So shut it off at the source.

The case could be made about half of the Gold and Silver threads that are posted here. Just strange that the rules are not even and equally applied.

The point being that the base price of the metal has little bearing on the cost of coins with the exception of the coins which are valued as bullion.

The professor should have said "were reelected" rather than "was" as this is the subjunctive case.

The thread became political so the mods put a stop to it. They could have deleted it as they do in many other cases.

It would seem it is only a matter of time before this forum goes the way of the OF given the types of threads recently.

This is a coin forum... many other forums exist.. in fact, anyone could start a forum addressing whatever they felt was of topical interest. Here, it is coins. Cheers, RickO
