    3 out of 5 crossed.

Are you satisfied with the results?

Are all your other coins in NGC holders? Why would you purposely decrease the value of your collection like that?

it appears your eye for proofs needs to improve a bit?
otherwise for circ strikes you are right on the money.

Now you can cross them back take the average grade and you will have a good idea what it actually is. image

  • As a next step, you can try to cross them to PCI.

More like PCGS' eye for proofs needs to improve; or maybe NGC's eye for proofs needs to improve? image

What would happen if you now submitted those NGC slabs to PCGS - would the two proofs upgrade? I doubt it.

It is possible that these two are liners and would change if re-submitted to NGC as well.

Why cross from PCGS to NGC? Was the value of your collection getting too high? You needed to decrease it?

    Russ, NCNE
  • It would be interesting to now crack 'em out and send to PCGS and then raw to NGC. You might find out that the whole deal is bogus.

Note to self #2: if you break rule #1 do not under any circumstances tell PCGS forum members about it imageimage

  • Now submit them to CAC and you can have some more money in grading fees.

If you keep crossing them back and forth, sooner or later you'll get some
nice entries for the Low-Ball Registry...

Had to laugh, NGC dropped some a point - which is exactly what PCGS
    usually does to NGC coins.

I would have requested that these coins crossed grade for grade,
    not cross at any grade.

Frankly, Im very surprised, more than half should have graded Pr70UC, with the rest in 69s. You mean they actually looked at the coins and then graded them? Is this something new theyre trying? Or maybe they just ran out of 69 and 70 labels.

You went 2 for 5 on downgrades. If you went 2 for 5 on upgrades you might have broke even.

    Expensive way to do comparisons.
Some refer to overgraded slabs as Coffins. I like to think of them as Happy Coins.

Nonsense. I can think of many dumber discussions, including the one about which storage devices the mint intended your coins to be in.

Remember when you took tests in school ? Incorrect answers seem to stick in your head after the test is returned and a "grade" given. So we look at the answers that were wrong and it seems we never forget what the right answer is after that. I hope the lesson is learned by thousands of people. (hey lurker brothers and sisters, are you watching ? )

In another thread , there's the limelight shining on a guy who's selling problem coins from ANACS holders on ebay and nobody seems to care. Integrity in numismatics ? No wonder there are no college courses. Not even the teachers get it right on a regular basis and the posse/ebay police around here could give a CRAP for the integrity of which we speak.

    Numismatics image Hello ?

Is it about the coin, the plastic, the characteristics of the die or the dealer ?
Thanks PCGS for having such a cool hallway to hang out in !
