IMO, the liberal agenda is ruining this country - whatever happened to American values - it's becoming a do anything society, without any moral compass - my father, God rest his soul, came from the Greatest Generation - a WWII vet and Japanese POW - he would sadden by this country's demise - the United States is relatively a new Nation, but going to the way of Rome - decay from within is destroying itimageimage

  • Gee...the haves and have nots...I went up to a poor man the other day and asked him if he was hiring......guess what? Seems only the mean ol' rich people are the ones doing it..go figure.

Let's be brutally honest here...The democrats pander to the low life's in our society...90% percent of the crime is done by the minorities in this country...whether you like to hear it or not...The voting history of the minorities in this country continues to be for the Democrats..because for one reason they continue to be soft on crime and continue to push this "rich man= mean..... poor mean =getting shafted through no fault of his own" agenda...Yea..I know...it hurts to hear it..

Being poor is no reason to be a freaking thug, killer, and thief. Sorry.

Good read - every law-abiding citizen of the US should take a look at this - the hardened criminal is getting more adapt in violence and crime, while our police force gets weaker and softer - certainly opened my eyes!!!!

  • << <i>> Keep waiting for your handout planism. and in the mean time just take from the haves because it obviously isnt fair that they have some and you don't.

I don't think a personal attack helps your argument. I'm not sure speculating about my personal situation helps your argument, either.

In fact, what IS your argument? >>

I started out against you but in the end I agreed totally with your argument that it was because he was robbed by a "have not"!! In fact I quit my job and applied for welfare just to make sure I wasn't one of the "haves". I wouldn't want to be the cause of anyones misfortunes. There are other benifits as well. Now I can go rob stores and it is ok because I joined the ranks of " Have Nots".

Time to split the country--let the socialists all live together with their entitlement programs, politically correct nonsenes, and weak armed forces. The rest of us can live safely then with a strong military and police force.

Aw, geez..............then, in country "A", who would "work"?

In country A, the liberals pay their taxes so that those who don't work can go to school for free, receive food stamps, etc and then hear how racist they are for not paying more taxes.

Uhh, I still would like to live in California, but can not afford Southern Cal. I think the gun toters in here ought to check out the Central Valley, an area much larger than most states, where there seem to be more guns than anything else and nary a sign without shotgun scars.

I am not going to get in the middle of this fight but will say that if some of the posters think that liberals run the media, then heaven help them, and I suggest they check out Fox News as an example to the complete contrary. The biggest thieves are in the White Houst right now, but will leave that one alone (damn, just couldn't resist a little dig at the Haliburton defenders of liberty!)...Ooops, there goes another 1.2 bill lost in Iraq last week...

Being poor creates a criminal? Hmmmm....

How poor do ya have to be to get to go 75 mph in a 60?

This premise is incomplete. In country A, liberals might pay their taxes, but they quickly discover that their taxes cannot fund their utopian society, (the one which has no rules) and as a result of not being paid, the remaining policemen and firemen all decide to walk off their jobs.

This of course, is your fault, and mine - because we now reside in country B, where you still get to keep a small % of what you earn by working your ass off all day long.

I think most of the problem with the youth today is that they are not getting enough guidance from adults, or simply being steered in the wrong direction because of having too much time on their hands. There needs to be a better education system and activities/programs for the young to keep them engaged and show them that they have a future. Perhaps they would not feel the need to join a gang and get into illicit activities if they were busy with school, sports, hobbies, and had a good support system.

Personally, I grew up dirt poor in the ghetto in New Haven, CT. I could have easily been the guy smashing the coin dealer's case and taking the gold and diamonds. However, my parents took me (and my brothers) by the scruff of the neck and made sure we understood the value of getting an education and bettering ourselves. Keeping kids active is the key, and we can debate whether the opportunities should be provided by the government or some other means.

It is clear that this forum like the US is politically and philosophically divided. That is what creates balance and thus democracy.

The key word in your entire post is "Parents" as in plural, not parent as in singular. We are now reaping the rewards of the feminist movement where as both parents are now in the workforce, daycares and afterschool programs are now instilling the values into children instead of their parents. Or, kids are coming home from school, if they come home, and having several hours of unsupervised behavior.
